So, I know I haven't posted a poem or anything in here in a while, sorry, things have been SO crazy. But, today being Good Friday that's what I based this one off of.

_______________

Title: Crucifixion

Jesus Christ died so we could be saved.

He stood before creation.

His blood shed upon that cross,

carrying the weight on His shoulders,

a perfect man,

He took every beating,

a humble man,

He tasted that vinegar oh, so bitter.

He sacrificed Himself for all the people of the world,

and in return was given a crown of thorns,

our sins have been paid for,

by grace we don't deserve.

The nails pierced His hands and feet,

He was bound, but oh how we are now so free.

We are sinful people, but by his unconditional love we are given a second chance, a third, and fourth.

Our hearts from black to white.

We live not for victory but from victory, the son of God. Hated. Despised. Frowned upon. Abandon by friends and family.

With the last words so full of power He said it with all He had left,

He said it is done, and it was.
