Ethan's POV

I watched helplessly as my sister fell to the ground from the overwhelming surge of energy that had just flowed through her. It took everything in me to let her go and continue fighting off the intruders who were basically kids, no older than my own siblings. Looking into their red, blood lusting eyes, hungry for a kill, was the only thing that separated my sentimental emotions from what I knew had to be done.

I quickly knocked out my opponents, leaving them unconscious and leaving the dirty work to my cousins, Sam and Dean, who had just arrived earlier today, precisely for this reason. They were discreet about killing the bastards, careful not to expose the younger children who had no knowledge of this school's actual intentions to what was actually going on. As far as they were concerned, this was just an unfortunate event.

By the time every single last intruder was taken care of, the only remaining people on the field were, my entire family, Ron and Ro's friends, Mason and a few upperclassmen who were in on the secret. The rest had specific instructions on getting everyone to safety if anything like this were to happen. Mason and I exchanged a knowing look before I directed my attention to the small crowd.

"Make sure they get to my office, don't let them out of your sight, and make sure, Becky and MacKenzie are alright," I ordered the upperclassmen, who didn't hesitate to gather the group and haul them off, but not before I caught a glance of my sister's seemingly lifeless body being picked up and carried into, Harry's arms.

Sam, Dean, Mason and myself stayed behind, making sure that all the remains were properly burned, leaving the grounds caretakers in charge of killing the fire once it was ready.

The four of us walked in complete silence towards my office with the exception of, Dean who was making fun of me and the "fancy" title I now held despite my claims to never wanting to be a part of this stupid school once I was old enough to leave. Not long ago, my thoughts were a lot like, my sister's. I couldn't wait to get out of this shithole and start an actual life for myself. It wasn't until my parents dropped the bomb on me of who we really were that I finally saw things their way.

My entire life, I thought they were just pawning us off to some school in the middle of nowhere because they couldn't give two shits about us, but little did I know, it was because they loved us that they sent us away, sent us here to be exact. And it wasn't until I had, Mac that I fully understood their reasoning. Even if I wasn't one hundred percent certain that she was mine, I'd do anything to protect her, even if it that meant sending her to a place like this for most of her life and only seeing her a couple of times a year.

As we made our way down the long halls, I couldn't help but think what would have happened if I never listened to my father and took martial arts as a kid and forced it on my siblings so hard. I knew this day would come sooner or later, it was what I had unknowingly been trained for, it was what I trained all my siblings for. My parents wanted them as far away from this world as possible, but knowing who we were, I knew that was impossible. Even if I couldn't tell them all the truth, it made me feel more comfortable knowing that they would be able to defend themselves if it ever came down to it.

And they did, if it weren't for the fact that this was an actual attack and not just a drill I was putting them through, I would have stopped everything and congratulated them on their skill, even, Calliope who was the youngest and had minimal training was fucking amazing.
