Harry's POV

My heavy eyes struggled to open, too comfortable in the warmth the surrounded my body. It wasn't just the normal warmth of waking up next to Dallas. It was something different. Something more. Something, good. I smiled, memories of the previous night flooding my mind. Simply knowing she would be beside me, I forced my eyes open, my lips growing into a smile as I took her in.

She had my black t-shirt she usually slept in and by the feel of it, nothing else underneath. Her lips her pouty and slightly puffy and her disheveled hair perfectly displayed on the other side of her face, spread out on her pillow. It almost looked like she had purposely staged this, but I had seen her wake up like this before, but this was different. Her skin was radiant and there was a slight smile on her lips as if she was having a pleasant dream.

I struggled with my urge to wake her, wanting to shower her in kisses, but I opted to let her rest since she had a long day yesterday and a long night. She was probably exhausted.

I kissed her head softly and gently got out of bed, tugging on a pair of gym shorts and t-shit before making my way to the kitchen.

All seemed silent throughout the penthouse, no traces of anyone coming home yet, making me wonder what time it was. I went to check my phone out of habit, realizing I had left it somewhere in Dallas' room.

I sighed and went to the kitchen, starting a pot of coffee while I made us some breakfast. She deserved a little nurturing after her hellish week. She sure wasn't going to get it from her mother, might as well come from a person who actually loved her. Not to say her own mother didn't love her, I would never know that, but she sure as hell had a funny way of showing it.

I quickly whipped up her favorite breakfast and squeezed some fresh orange juice, serving all the contents on a large tray, with a single flower I picked from the many bouquet she had received for her birthday to adorn the lovely meal. It wasn't something spectacular, but I knew she'd appreciate the act more than presentation. She was simple that way.

Everything about was simple yet complex. She was this mysterious girl that I could so easily read. It sometimes worried me how close we were or how synced we seemed to be. It wasn't normal and in our world, that was usually a sign.

But, that was a thing for another day. Today, or at least this morning, I was going to treat her to breakfast in bed as it should have been yesterday on her actual birthday. Instead I had to share her with everyone else, just like every other day.

"What are you doing?" My thoughts were interrupted by a familiar voice that sorta scared me, if I was being honest.

I looked up to face said voice, finding myself in front of the eldest Monroe sibling, Ethan. "Um, it's breakfast," I answered stupidly.

"Just for yourself?" He asked, looking at both plates on the tray, obviously knowing the answer.

"For myself and my girlfriend," I answered bravely this time.

He hummed and nodded. "You mean, ex girlfriend, the princess."

I swallowed hard and let out a breath. "I'm fully aware of her status and you know I haven't interfered with her duties, I wouldn't dream of it. But, I love her and I'm not going to let you or your parents intimidate me out of this relationship again. I respect you, not only because you're royalty and my superiors, but mostly because you're her family. She loves you guys and I wouldn't dream of standing between that, and I hope you guys don't stand between our love either."
