Harry's POV

The next few days were intense. Not for the reasons one in our life would think. Our dilemma was caused by our week of hell. Final's week. The only upside of this week was getting out of class early and spending that extra time with, Dallas. It was different being around her all the time as my girlfriend now. Sure we were being clingly with each other, but I think we were both scared of being torn apart and we were secretly both taking advantage of the time we had together, just in case.

I loved her and she loved me, but I knew in this life, especially with her being of a royal family, love wasn't always enough. But, that wouldn't stop me from fighting for her, even if it was against our laws, though I doubted she knew that. She still wasn't fully aware of how my world- well, her world, our world, worked. Her whole life, she was shielded from her birth right and holed up in this school, which now that I think about it, I think it's rather ironic that this place used to be a castle and she is a princess. I wonder if her parents did that on purpose. I found it quite clever actually. Hiding her in plain sight like that.

Now that our week in hell was over, I wanted to take her out on a proper date. I had screwed up my first attempt, so now was my chance to redeem myself. If I botched this one, all the love in the world world mean shit to her and she was sure to break up with me then and I wasn't about to allow that to happen. Not this way at least. Not over something that I had complete control of.

I walked over to where she had thrown herself over the couch, half her body on the ground and sat on top of her. "Ugh, get off," she mumbled, her face too squished to speak properly. "Death, Harry. Harry get off. Pineapples. Harry, pineapples." She called out her code word which meant stop. It was sort of her safe word that her entire family used as a warning.

I shimmied off of her, plopping on the ground, sitting up in front of her. I want to take you out on a date," I informed her, moving the hair away from her face.

"No, you're mean," she whined like a small child.

"Am not," I pouted. "Please?"

"Pizza parlor?" She perked up,

I shook my head. "I was thinking we could stay in the city for a few days, just me and you? Before we head to your parents for break," I reminded her about our impending visit back to her parents place for the winter break.

"You know you don't have to come to that, I know you miss your family-"

"I'm not allowed to visit them yet," I let out heavily, the remainder as painful as the moment I found out. The Council was being petty and wasn't letting any of us contact our families until further notice. "Besides, Ethan made it very clear that we are not to be trusted alone-"

"Actually, I think that's my fault. I may have mentioned I was going to stay with you guys during the break since you guys were alone and he sorta flipped and yeah, sorry."

"Don't be," I pulled her down onto my lap, wrapping my arms around her waist. "At least now I get to spend Christmas with you. So what do you say?" I tapped her butt. "Date?"

"Okay," she nodded. "When?"

"If you hurry and pack, we can leave tonight?"

"No. no, I can't," she changed her mind, her hands going from the base of my neck to her temples. "I have to stay with-"

"I'm sure Ethan can wrangle in your siblings just once," I cut her off, knowing exactly where her brain drifted off to. "You do everything he asks and you take care of everyone, you are entitled to a day off," I tried to reason. "Besides, it's only for a few days."
