Ro's POV

I laid in the comfort of soft sheets, fluffy pillows and a plush mattress, letting the sun that poured through the thin curtains, bathe me. The California sun was completely different from the New York sun. It was much brighter, warmer. I found it oddly comical how the same exact sun could be so different in different places.

These were the type of things I thought about now. I'd always had a thing for asking myself philosophical questions, but never had enough time to actually sit there and come up with answers to satisfy myself. I was always up early and in bed late or never sleeping. Always taking care of everyone else's needs. Making sure the were fed, clothed, had everything they needed, did their homework. My only moments of free time was spend training or taking care of the daycare at the school and more recently, with Harry.

The mere thought of him brought me to a state of such disgust, I felt ill to my stomach.

I'd kept myself busy enough in these last few weeks that I gave myself little to no time to think about Harry or his- betrayal... I guess you could call it that. I had left, driving endlessly until I decided on a whim that I had to get out of the state of New York all together. I thought about leaving the country, but that was a bit exaggerated and I had never actually left the country by myself, so I wasn't too sure if I was even allowed. I wasn't that familiar with the whole situation with my family and I wasn't in the mood to risk it that much. And I didn't have a passport that was actually up to date. The last time I remember traveling was when I was little when my dad used to take us to the small town in Arizona. It being a border town, we often made trips to Mexico when we were there.

Instead, I made my way to sunny, California, giving my friend Felicity a ring the moment I landed. She happily picked me up and welcomed me into her home and it had been a nonstop vacation since. Though she disappeared with her fiance quite frequently, it was pretty much beaches, shopping and late night conversations with her. Not that I minded if I was honest. It was a bunch of mindless activities which kept me contently occupied.

After ten minutes of contemplating things I was supposed to be leaving behind, I got up and followed the scent of strong brewing coffee all the way to the kitchen.

"Good morning, sleepy head," Felicity laughed as she served a mug of coffee.

"Morning," my groggy voice shocked us both. I suppose all the talking the night before actually got to me. "Where's your fiance?" I teased, dragging my feet over to the island, serving myself some juice while I rubbed my eyes.

"He had to take care of some stuff early, but he assured me he'd be back in time to join us for lunch." She oozed happiness as she spoke about him.

"You guys seem so happy," I smiled back.

"We are," she was quick to answer. "I heard you were pretty happy for a while too," she finally brought up the topic I was hoping she wouldn't.

"Who was this big mouth," I smiled, bitterly.

"Ron," she laughed. "Who do you think?" I rolled my eyes and drank my juice. "We talked a few weeks back. He said you seemed so infatuated. In love, was the correct term."
