Ro's POV

It ha been two weeks since school had resumed and it was kicking my ass. Not only was I dealing with a grueling class schedule, three crazy younger siblings that needed full attention, and some sort of magical book that needed decoding; Ethan had us training during every spare moment we had. He was acting crazier than ever, as if he were on some sort of power trip. He usually had us train for hours, but keeping us well past midnight, every night was just a little over the top in my opinion.

I knew he was doing this on purpose, but I couldn't figure out why. As far as I knew, he was supposed to be running a freaking "kingdom", not run us to our graves. I made sure to mention it a few times, which always ended up with me doing extra sprints for my so called attitude. Mason tried to get him to calm down, but he only lashed out even more.

"We can skip out on tonight, if you want?" Liam mumbled as we ran around the gym.

I chuckled breathlessly as we finished our final lap, hunching over to catch my breath before standing up straight and wiping my sweat and hair that clung to my forehead away with the back of my hands. "I'll be good," I struggled to speak, "Unless you guys are the ones that need the break," I smirked and teased.

"We do as you please, princess," he teased back.

I rolled my eyes and inhaled deeply, trying to accept his idea of a joke rather than punch him. He just chuckled and walked back to the center of the room, where the mats had been set up and Ethan was waiting for us. While we waited for him to give us further instructions, I stretched out my limbs, nearly tipping over from not being able to feel my numb legs anymore. Ethan looked at me, annoyed for interrupted his speech while I tried to catch myself.

"Why don't you train as hard?" I questioned, squatting before I eventually tumbled over and fell on my ass. Louis and Zayn, who were stranding right next to me, rushed to help me up, but I waved them off, preferring to sit and just take a breather.

"I'm not the one who still needs to learn how to defend himself," Ethan scolded, looking at everyone, especially Harry and the boys.

"Oh my god," I groaned, smacking my hands on the mat beneath me, "You seriously need to stop signaling them out."

"They're the late comers and need the most training if-"

"Okay," I cut him off and agreed to a certain extent. "But there has to be a better way of doing this, rather than busting everyone's balls from sun up to sun down."

The silence was cut by, Calliope laughing her ass off, making me smirk at the sound of her giggle. "She said, 'balls'" She exploded, unable to contain herself any longer, smacking Harry's arm who was standing beside her with his arms crossed and stoned faced. He took the training sessions very seriously and in order to get the most of thing, he decided it was best to keep things "professional" until we were allowed to head back to our dorms. It wasn't ideal, but I accepted it. I was used to how my brother acted, Harry was still trying to get on my family's good side.

"Fine," Ethan arched his brow, unfolding his arms and letting them fall to his hips. "You guys are going to work as a team, every single one of you against me. If just one of you can ring the bell," he nodded at Mason who grabbed a big bell from his gym bag, setting it up on the highest bench on the bleachers.

"Fuck," I mumbled under my breath, knowing the simple enough task was actually nearly impossible. He had done this to Ron and I growing up and no matter how much we trained, he was always better. Even if we tag teamed. Even with so many on our team this time around, I had very little faith that we could do this, especially when we were all tired as hell.
