My eyes focused on the cracked concrete ceiling of my cell. Time flies by when your in here, I learned to realize that. I could be thinking it's only six in the evening but in reality, it's midnight. I sat up in my bed and stretched. I swung my feet over the edge and stood up.
My cell was the definition of boring, a single bed smashed up against the wall and a toilet in the corner. I needed some color in her, maybe something to brighten my spirit. I glanced over to the door and saw a tray of shitty arkham food. I grabbed the tray and dipped my hand into the mushy food. The food itself didn't really have a nice look to it, the color of the mushy food was a bright mixture of yellow and a dark green,
"Its better than nothing," I muttered to my self and dragged my hand across the wall, "I myself would rather have a poster but this works." I shrugged and continued to dip my hand in the food and spread it across the wall.
Once all the food was gone, I threw the tray aside and looked back at my 'art'.
It looked like someone literally threw up on the wall but it would stay for now. I took a few steps back and sat down on the foot of my bed. I closed my eyes and let the cries of help from the other insane cellmates fill my head.
I jumped up when I heard someone giggle from outside my cell,
"If you're some demon child wanting to eat my soul, I would try the next cell. My soul left my body the minute I stepped into this place." I said and looked over to my door,
"Its not a soul eating demon, it's your favorite cellmate!" Came the same voice I've been hearing from my wall ever since I got here.
I got up and raced to my door to see a woman, maybe in her late 20s. She had blonde hair that were that tied into pigtails. She had a childish smile on her face and she glared me down with her sparkling dark blue eyes,
"I would keep it down if u were you." I whispered and she rolled her eyes.
"What? Not excited to see me?" She asked with a raise of her eyebrow,
"No, why would I?" I asked with a small scoff,
"Because i'm your one way ticket out of this hole, buddy." She smirked and held up a ring of keys
"How did you get that?"
"Stole them off one of the newer guards, the kid is clueless!" She quietly laughed
"Why are you choosing some random guy you just met to break out with?"
"I've been in here for months, I need to get out of here. Plus, I have some other help from a person who works here, they say you're cool."
"Who is the other person?"
"Mmm, I can't say; you'll probably rat 'em out. Meet me here tomorrow night and we'll get out of this place."
"I'm not sure, I might have other plans." I sarcastically said and slightly rolled my eyes.
"Stop with the sarcasm, just be ready to go." She said and started to walk off,
"Wait," I quietly called out to her, "What's your name?" I asked and she walked back,
"Harley." She said with a small smile,
"I'm Warner."
"I know." She winked and skipped back to her cell.
I let out a small chuckle and stepped away from my door. A small smile grew on my face and i layed down on my bed, already thinking about the first thing I'm going to do when I get out.
