Painkiller

The elevator slowly lowered me down to the Batcave. I started getting impatient, what if Kiara is already dead and I couldn't do anything to save her. I felt my stomach knot and my heart pound up against my chest. I felt tears build up in my eyes and i let out a sigh in defeat.

The elevator dinged and the doors slowly opened. I quickly crutched out of the elevator and looked around the Batcave in a panic. Jason was the only person I saw, he was off to the side messing around with some Batgear, probably waiting for the others to come back.

I dropped my crutch on the floor, causing a loud bang. Jason looked over at me and set down the baterang, "Warner?" He asked, concern in his voice,

"Something is wrong," was all I could say before tears started to stream down my face. I never cried in front of Jason, there is a first time for everything,

Jason mouthed something before rushing over to me. He grabbed my arm and looked at me in the eye,

"What is wrong, Warner you have to tell me what's wrong."

"I-it's Kiara." I breathed out

Jason's loosened his grip on my arm and his eyes started to wonder, "Oh, uh what's wrong with her?"

I dried my eyes and tugged my arm away from him. I know he lost all interest in the situation the second I mentioned Kiara's name, "She got kidnapped. I'm thinking by her father. She left a voice mail on my phone."

"Go get your phone, we will find her." He said, his lacking hope. He picked up the crutch off the floor and handed it to me.

I nodded and walked back to the elevator and pressed the up button. I watched Jason dissappear as I was taken up to the mansion.

Once I got up to the mansion, I saw Alfred cleaning up the mess that we left in the kitchen. He didn't seem to notice me and I hope he didn't, I wasn't in the mood to talk right now. I crutched into the kitchen and picked up my phone. Alfred turned around and flashed a smile at me,

"Good afternoon Alfred." I said before walking out of the kitchen,

"Its good you're back master!" He loudly said as I stepped into the elevator.

I looked down at my phone and saw a message from Kayla.

New Text Message From Kayla:
I hear you're back at the mansion. Did Bruce apologize?

I pressed the down button and started to write back,

No, he didn't. I think he will soon though. Jason will have to catch you up in all that's happening.

I wrote out and sent the message. I closed my phone and tucked it into my pocket and rode the elevator down to the Batcave.

-Time Skip-

Bruce got back from the sewers and Jason, Dick, Bruce and I went over the voicemail,

"What are we going to do?" I asked as the voicemail finished,

"We are going to go get her." Bruce announced and stood up,

"Really?" Dick asked, cocking an eyebrow,

"I owe it to him." Was all Bruce said before looking at me, "So when do we leave?"

"I'm coming too." Jason announced, standing up,

"No you have to stay with Kayla." Bruce said and Jason looked away, his cheeks flushing pinkish color.

Dick's head spun towards Jason and he had a strange look on his face, "Kayla?" He asked,

"Its nothing." Jason muttered,

"No, why do you have to stay with Kayla?" Dick asked, getting mad

"Dick, drop the subject. How's your leg Warner?" Bruce asked,

"Its alright, I can get around." I shrugged, looking down at the ground, not bothering to look up at Dick and Jason,

"We leave tonight," Bruce said, taking off his mask, "I'm the world's greatest detective, we will find her."
