The morning sun peaked in through the open window of my old room back at the Wayne Mansion. The sound of police sirens was heard in the distance, just another day in Gotham. I rose out of bed, remembering not to apply to much pressure to my knee. I grabbed my crutch and crutched out of my room. I slowly made my way down the hallway and suddenly got a wiff of the smell of bacon and coffee.

I got to the kitchen and saw Damian leaning up against the bar with a slice of slightly burned toast in his hand. Dick was talking to some guy that had his back facing to me. Once Dick saw me, he paused mid sentence to call me over,

"Hey Warner," Dick said, setting down his glass of orange juice, "Come meet another 'brother' of ours."

The man turned around and i soon realized that the man was Jason. I forgot all about our call lastnight,

"Hey, Warner, right?" He asked, taking a step forward towards me, "I'm Jason." He said, flashing a grin,

"Yeah, uh nice to meet you." I said, trying to to add 'again' at the end of the sentence.

Dick shifted a little then cleared his throat, "So, why are you here?" He asked Jason,

"Oh you know, visiting my favorite brothers," Jason responded, looking around, "Where's Timmy?" He asked,

"Tim is doing business in Coast City. He should be returning soon." Bruce answered Jason's questions while walking into the kitchen, "have you and Jason met?" Bruce asked me

I nodded and Bruce turned towards Dick, Damian and Jason,

"Suit up you three. Warner, you stay here, for obvious reasons.. " Bruce trailed off,

"But father," Damian spoke up, "Are you aware of what time it is?"

"Yes I know it's daylight. We have some business in the sewers." Bruce responded,

"Uhm, you know what?" Jason started, "I'll stay here with Warner. You know, get to know him a little better make sure he doesn't run off and get into any trouble."

Dick shrugged, "Your choice." He said and walked off to probably go get suited up.

Damian and Bruce left after Dick to go get suited up, leaving Jason and i in the kitchen. Jason looked over at me and reached into his pocket. He pulled out a phone and tossed it to me,

I caught the phone and looked down at it, "a flip phone?" I asked, looking up at him like the thing I was holding in my hand was a joke,

"It was the cheapest thing I could get my hands on. I got it lastnight right after you called. I also programed it so you have the same phone number as your old phone. Dick isn't the only one with technical knowledge." He smirked and grabbed a coffee mug, "I'll be in the cave." He said then walked off.

I pressed my lips together and powered on the phone. The small phone screen lit up and i saw that I had five missed calls and two voicemails from an unknown number from earlier this morning. I knitted my eyebrows together and listened to the first message,

"Warner," Kiara's voice said through the phone, "I had to leave early. My dad showed up at the warehouse and he threatened me to go. It was a bad idea. I should have stayed in Gotham, just move to a different location. I dont know if you know this but, blüdhaven isn't doing so.. great. Call me back."

I let out a sigh and sat down on a bar stool. I leaned my crutch up against the bar and listened to the second message,

"I don't have enough time they are coming." A very panicked and scared Kiara voice came from the phone, "Oh god I hope you're still alive, I hope you're okay. I'm sorry Warner, I'm sorry for all the trouble I have caused you. I lov-" Kiara's voice was cut off by a muffled scream, after the scream a small thud was heard,"Oh hero, good luck trying to save your damsel in distress now." The voice of Scarecrow came from the phone.

The voicemail cut off and I dropped the phone. I swallowed hard and my face went pale. I stood up and rushed down the the Batcave, not even bothering picking up my phone off the kitchen floor.
