Chapter 19

Ashleys PoV
I got in the car alone. I explained the situation to Jenn and Zoe. They would probably relay the information onto the rest of the gang.

I chucked my phone and my bag into the leather seat of my new black Range Rover and started the engine.

It was nice to have some alone time. Just me and my thoughts. We've been in la hardly a day. In the space of a couple of hours there's been so much drama. I came back with everyone to have a relaxing holiday with my friends. So far, I've had anything but that.

I gently pulled up in a parking space near the bottom of the hill. I sat in the silent car for a minute. Gazing on at the small crowd of people ahead of me in their running gear. Carefree.

I decided to head out. I can't stay in this car forever. I pulled up my leggings and adjusted the shirt as I swung my black Michael Kors bag around my shoulder. I held my phone in my hand tightly and started the long trek up the hill.

It took me 30 minutes to reach near enough the top. A small figure appeared in the haze. It was Joe. He noticed me and hastily got up. Fixing his hair and shirt. I walked faster. And I noticed his smile. I loved that smile.

"Ashley" Joe smiled as we stood there facing eachother.

To be honest, I was hoping that he would ask me out or something. But I haven't been very lucky lately.

"Hi Joe" I said innocently back.
"Hey, I wanna show you something" he said and held out his hand. I took it.

I followed him to a spot of neatly cut grass looking over the dazzling city of la. We sat down in silence and gazed on at the beautiful view.

"Beautiful view isn't it" Joe smiled.
"It is" I sighed contently.
"I'm talking about the view next to me" Joe giggled slightly. I turned to him. His face went bright red and he shyly smiled at me.

Was this it? Was this the moment we confess that we like eachother? Just as Joe was about to say something, there was a loud shout from behind us. A man in uniform wearing a sternly expression on his face approached us.

"Excuse me but this is private property so you're gonna have to leave" he stated.

It seemed like everything was getting in the way; forcing us apart. Was I ever going to get my chance?
