Chapter 49

Ashley's POV
He strolls towards me with both of his hands in his pockets .

"Don't rush babe" I joke.

"I like that" he smirks.

"What?"

"I like it when you call me babe. Say it one more time"

"Oh shut up" I chuckle and slap his chest lightly. His head tilts back in laughter and a smile stretches across my face. It's hard not to smile when he's around.

"You know, I didn't realise how well known you are until the fight between you and Cameron was the no.1 topic on E! News, tmz and all that" he says smoothly unwrapping a lollipop and twisting it around between his teeth.

I raise my eyebrows in confusion.

"I've been the no.1 topic on E! News and tmz many times Joe, don't doubt me and my social status" I joke but he doesn't laugh. Oh, why did he have to bring it up?

"I'm just saying, because you're manager appeared out of no where 5 minutes ago to tell me that you shouldn't answer any questions about Cameron. She also told me that you're Troye's plus one to the AMA's soon. To be honest, I've never even seen you're manager before and I don't know how she even knows me. I didn't realise how busy she is with you"

Since when did my manager feel the need to talk to my friends instead of me and why is he even bringing up my 'fame' now?

I shake my head frustrated and try to concentrate on what the carpet director is saying.

"You're well known too Joe."

"Look Ashley" he says a little more aggressively, completely ignoring the multiple people around us.

"She also told me to tell you that you shouldn't answer questions about relationships at all to interviewers, so tell me now... Are we going to work out? Or are you going to end up having to push me away as you become even more well known as Troye's music career progresses and on top of that, you're getting into modelling now? Like that's a thing? You didn't even mention it! Next thing I know, you'll be signing a music contract with capitol records or something." He says harshly, trying to control the volume of his voice.

"Joe do you really think I'd let fame get in the way of anything? Lets be honest though Joe. Our 'fame', isn't at the level where it'll ruin our relationship. Yes, I do manage to get the attention of a lot of people and a few paparazzi but it's not like I'm kylie Jenner or anything! You get the attention of the press too. My god, Your making me sound so f*cking stuck up Joe! I'm gonna do what I want to do! Whether that be modelling or singing. Please don't make my success sound like a bad thing" my voice begins to lower and eventually I spit out the last sentence as a whisper.

"It's like you've forgotten that you're about to bring out your second movie and your second book" I mumble.

His expression remains the same. Hurt.

"The thing is though Ashley. You haven't answered my question." He's trying to be a dick about this but he's too good hearted. Being a jerk about it is the only way he knows he'll get his point across but he's beginning to look like a lost puppy.

"My manager doesn't want me to answer questions about Cameron or my relationship status because she knows that once I say one little thing, it will start a rumour. She knows how much I care about you guys and once rumours start spreading, the press want answers. That leads to mobs of paparazzi and many of them targeting you. Cameron is the face of the Internet he's going to attract a lot of attention." I explain.

"You're basically the face of the Internet too and you don't even realise it" he interrupts me with a humourless laugh.

I push away what he says and carry on speaking.
