Caroline had been very busy since Luke left to go back on tour. She wanted him to meet her parents and she had to take Kelly for visit to the clinic for a shot, not to mention Caroline's monthly check-ups for her pregnancy.

Luke's also been away for two months, meaning that Kelly was now seven months old and that Caroline was now five months pregnant. She was going to find out the gender of the baby soon and was so excited.

She was currently planning a trip to Georgia to see her parents. Luke hadn't met them and it wad time that he did. Caroline's father knew about the baby and Luke, but her mother didn't. Caroline was so excited and couldn't wait to surprise her.

Just then, Caroline's phone buzzed. She figured she had some time before Kelly woke up from her nap. She checked her phone to see her boyfriend's handsome face flash on her phone. He was FaceTiming her. She answered immediately. "Hey, baby."

"How are my girls?" Luke asked.

"We're doing fine, but we really miss you," Caroline told him. "When will you be home?"

A huge grin formed one Luke's face. "Starting on Friday, you'll have me all to yourself for three days."

"That sounds tempting, but I'm afraid that I'll have to decline. I got plans," Caroline said with no emotion and a plain tone to her voice.

Luke's smile slowly faded to a frown. "Wait, what plans? I really want to see you."

Caroline started laughing hysterically. "Baby, you'll get to see me! I just mean that we won't be doing that, because we're seeing my parents this weekend. I just have to call my dad."

All the colour drained from Luke's face. Didn't her father, hate him? Or he didn't want Caroline with him. Didn't he argue that he shouldn't of gotten her pregnant and that celebrities were bad news? "I'm not going."

Caroline glared at Luke. "You don't have a choice."

"Then I'm staying here and going to North Carolina early," Luke said, trying to avoid going on this trip.

"Well, the only way you'll get out of it is if you break it off with me. Whenever you come see Kelly and I, you'll be going," Caroline smirked at him.

"I hate you," Luke mumbled. "Look I got to go."

Caroline rolled her eyes. "Luke, seriously? Why don't you want to meet my parents?"

"You dad doesn't approve of me being with you. It's only gonna cause problems. Maybe I'll end up dead in the end. Who knows."

Caroline gave him a the are-you-for-real look. "My dad is actually a nice guy. I talked to him earlier this month and he's so excited to meet you and see my baby bump. Luke, baby, he loves you. And, just so you know, my mom's a huge fan of yours."

"I guess, but moving on. How's my baby boy?" Luke asked, a smile curling his lips again.

"They could be your baby girl," Caroline pointed out, remaining optimistic.

Luke chuckled. "Well, whatever. How's my baby doing."

Caroline smiled. Luke was such a good daddy, even if he didn't see it. Kelly loved him. "Our baby is perfectly fine. And, we get to find out the gender soon! Right before we go to Georgia, actually."

Luke's smile grew even wider. "Really? I can't wait! I will finally get to know that the baby will be my SON."

"Don't get me wrong, Luke, I want a boy too, but the baby could be a girl still," Caroline tried to lay the truth on him gently.

"Haha, I know, love. I'm just excited and I'm really hoping that it's a boy."

Caroline smiled. "Well, hot stuff, I let you have me all to yourself for Friday night, when we get to Georgia."

"I'll hold that to you," Luke smiled. "But, I have to go, I love you."

Caroline smiled wide. "I love you too, and miss you."

"I miss you too, baby. Bye," Luke said, before hanging up. He laid his phone down on the table and stood up. He was excited for his date with Caroline on Friday. He was ready, he just hoped that she was too.

Carter twirled a McDonald's fry between his fingers. "You gonna eat this McDouble or not?"

Luke rolled his eyes. He reached into his fridge and pulled out a beer. "Nah."

"What's got you in a good mood?" Carter asked as he grabbed the burger and opened the packaging.

Luke reached into his pocket and pulled out a ring box. He opened it and showed it to Carter. "This is why I'm in a good mood."

Carter spat out a mouthful of burger. "WAIT! YOU'RE GONNA PROPOSE!?"

Luke covered his ears. "God damn it, Carter! Quiet!"

Carter's mind was racing. This was all too quick. He knew that his best friend loved Caroline, but wasn't it a little much? He shouldn't be proposing this quick, should he? "Luke, are you sure?"

Luke frowned. "Why can't you be happy for me? Carter, she means the world to me. I want to propose, I really do."

Carter just didn't think it was the time. What if Caroline said no? What if he gets his heart broken because she's just not ready? "I just don't want you to get hurt," Carter sighed.

Luke just ignored Carter. He didn't need any negativity in his life. He wanted to keep believing in himself. Carter was just a downer.

Caroline suddenly felt this burst of joy after hanging up with Luke. Something real good was gonna happen soon. She glanced down at growing belly. She placed her hand on it. This baby was just the beginning. She knew that.

She then felt this weird feeling from within. It felt as if little feet. Was this the baby kicking? She moved her hand along her stomach, then she felt it. The baby. "Oh! You're kicking!"

A huge smile spread across her face. She couldn't wait to tell Luke that his baby was active. He'd be so happy. Yes, good things were happening indeed.

Kelly screams began to bounce off the walls. Caroline shook her head as she began her trip up the stairs, but then she dropped, feeling a strange pain in her side. Not the baby, not this time. She reached in her pocket for her phone. She tapped on her emergency contact. But, what good would that do, since it was Luke.

"Luke!" Caroline cried into the phone.

"Baby, are you okay? What's wrong?" Luke frantically asked.

Caroline winced as the pain worsen. "I don't know," she whispered, but then it began to subside. "The pain's gone."

Luke huffed. "Okay, uh, was it near the baby?"

"Yeah, it was," Caroline silently answered, praying that she wouldn't miscarry.

"Okay, er, try to see the doctor. Get an ultrasound. It might have been nothing."

"I'm fine, Luke. I'll do that," Caroline assured him as she slowly got up.

"I love you, Carol."

"I love you too, Luke," Caroline smiled.

A/N: The last part doesn't make sense, but it will. Whoa, Luke's gonna propose! Why do you think Carter doesn't agree with it? Luke's gonna meet the parents! What do you think Caroline's pain is from? Alrighty, so I got a job. I'm gonna miss the damn ACM's, boo. But, I'll watch it on Monday when CMT Canada reairs it. Also, no update tomorrow. They will be less frequent. ~Kelsea
