3.1 don't let me down

I was awoken by my phone endlessly buzzing, "What the fuck" I groaned as I checked who was texting me. 

It was my boss, and I was 2 hours late for work.

"Shit" I said as I got up and took in my surroundings. 

Sam was still sleeping peacefully, I think. I found a pad of sticky notes and a sharpie and wrote him a quick little note before I left.

One last chance :)

p.s. we need to talk... when you're sober

I then quickly ran out the door and got in my car, heading straight to work.

"Where the hell were you this morning?! I was worried about you!" Said Amanda the second I got in the door after work

"Work" I said slyly 

"Your work schedule is on the fridge, and I was awake before your shift started. What aren't you telling me?"

I swear she was like a mom sometimes, "I went to see Sam, rather early this morning"

"And...?"

"He started drunk texting me and I fell for it since I know what its like to be sad and alone trying to drink your problems away so I went and we just sat in silence until he passed out and I eventually fell asleep too.. And then this afternoon I was 2 hours late for work because I was up almost all night so I stayed late to make up the time"

"You're too good for him Ava.. He might have called you trouble the first night you guys met but I think he's way more trouble."

"I'm giving him one last chance" I sighed

"All I'm saying is to be careful. I don't want him to leave you the way the last one left you"

flashback

**this chapter has been sitting here for WEEKS and i really don't wanna write the entire flashback + i don't have the time so here it is summarized srry:

before ava lived in LA she was born n raised in florida and left home at 17 (she is 19 now btw) and got into an abusive relationship

ava's ex bf (bf at the time) is drunk + throws an empty beer bottle aimed at her head that just misses her + hits the wall behind her

ava's ex bf takes all of her money + leaves her with nothin but her own belongings (pretty much clothes n shit)

ava leaves and goes to the club where she gets extremely intoxicated and is in the bathroom throwing up where she meets amanda (who was living in LA at the time but visiting friends in florida) + amanda helps ava (holds her hair back n shit) then takes her to the hospital to make sure she is safe

ava wakes up the next day and amanda is sleeping in the chair next to the bed and wonders who amanda is + how she got in the hospital

amanda introduces herself and they talk about what happened between ava n her ex bf then amanda invites ava to go out to LA to live with her in amandas apartment (at the time) + ava says yes

they leave the hospital n go straight to the airport to fly to LA, leaving everything of ava's behind + when they get to LA ava is offered an amazing job n she takes it so she can support herself.

flashback over

"Yeah, I'll, uh.. I'll be careful"

PSA: i am in no means saying that sam would ever try to hurt a girl but im just pointing out like drunk tendencies + unstable relationships + she was a pushover n didn't speak her mind n was insecure n she didn't stand up for herself
