**Alexandria's POV**
After I declined the King things got much, much worse. A small red dot appeared in the darkness, and I found that it was a camera that would follow my movements. Every once in a while sounds would fill the room, sometimes they were just sounds like a dog barking. Lots of times it would be noises of little mice squeaking, they would drive me so crazy that I would jump around the room.
The worst part was when the screams started. I stopped eating the food that they gave me, and they didn't like that. I heard the speakers turn on, and expected something like waves or crying, but screams rang out. They sounded like little girls screaming, and suddenly it was my sister begging not to be hurt.
I screamed until my voice was raw, they couldn't hurt my sister. The screams played over and over on loop for what seemed to be forever, and every time it got back to my sister I cried. I just wanted this torture to be over, I didn't care anymore.
Suddenly the lights turned on. I cried out as my eyes started to burn. Maybe they would finally let me out, but no one came.
I waited and waited, and finally the door opened. It was a different guard them normal. This man looked familiar, he was the one that had help me still when I was having my back cleaned out.
The man was holding a tray, but I couldn't tell what was on it because it was covered with a metal cover that they had at fancy restaurants.
The guy sheepishly smiled, and I backed away from him.
"It seems like you made the King rather unhappy," said that man walking towards me.
"Yeah," I said, my voice raw. I slowly pulled myself to my feet. This guard seemed nicer than the others, but it might just be a facade.
"Well, he wanted me to bring this too you," he said lifting the metal cover. Under the cover was a pile of clothes with a note on them.
The guard offered them too me, and I took them, shaking.
"What's your name," asked the man.
"Alex," I said my voice shaking a bit.
"Well, it seems like the King has a fascination with you. I'll give you a word of advice, listen to him, he doesn't go easy on people very often, and he can do a lot to you. There are things worse than dying, and he can and will use you as an example to others. No one knows where you are, they think that you have been taken away just like the others. I hope you take my advice seriously, because it could save you a lot of pain."
I nod, not sure what else to do. I knew that everything he said was the truth, and it scared me.
The guard went to left, but looked back at me once. I wondered what he saw, a small pale girl with matted brown hair, and a dirty face. Did he see the fear in my face and the look of defeat in my eyes. I wondered if he noticed the way that I shook all of the time, and how every noise scared me. Did he see a poor girl with shrunken eyes and little hope.
I wish that he would have seen a confidant girl who wasn't ever going to give in. A girl who would fight anyone and be a leader. But I was slowly being destroyed.
