It's time to get the chains out
Is your tongue tied up?
'Cause this is my ground
And I'm dangerous
And you can get off
But it's all about me tonight

So you say I'm complicated
That I must be outta my mind
But you've had me underrated

Alex's POV

"I-I-I I need to think," I said, backing away from the King. I backed up to that I was against the door. The King nodded, and a opened the door, getting out as fast as I could.

I stumbled down the stares putting a finger against my own lip. It was tingling from the King's touch. I went to my room, and looked in the mirror. I was flushed. I felt my lips once again, and tried not to think about it. There was no way to say that it was bad. The Kiss was soft and kind, it reminded me of sunshine and summer. I wasn't sure how something no beautiful could come from such an evil man.

I giggled as I thought about the King kissing be again, before becoming angry at myself. How could I like something from a murderer, from someone who kidnapped children.

I scrubbed my face, trying to make the feeling of the King's touch disappear, but my lips still tingled by the time that my face was bright red from scrubbing.

I scowled and anger ran through me, there was no way that I would do anything with the King. I would go to him and tell him no. I should tell him that I would never do anything for him. I would strike him and run out of this palace, an out of this hell. Maybe I would find a way back home, to Seth and mom and dad.

I was still in the bathroom when I heard the door open. "Go away please," I told the King, "I need more time to think."

"Think about what," said someone who was definitely not the King.

"James," I asked turning around, I turned and left the bathroom going over to him.

"Hey,' he said, wrapping his arm around my shoulders in a side hug. That week together had made us pretty close, compared to everyone else in the castle.

"Does the King know that you're here," I asked in a hushed tone.

"Yes, he does," said James, smiling and completely calm, "But I bet he is watching us in the camera so act happy."

I pulled my mouth into a smile, and made sure the camera could see it.

"Can we go someone where else," asked James.

"I'm not sure," I told him honestly, "This morning was the first time they let me out in days." We moved to the door, and found that it was unlocked. I stepped out and the guard at the door ignored me.

"Come on," I told James, stepping into the hallway. I started to lead him down to the slave quarters. No one would be there this time of day, they would all be working.

"Where are we going," asked James, as I led him down a flight of stairs.

"Somewhere without cameras," I told him. Once we got to the slave common room, I sat down and James pulled a seat by me sitting.

"So what brings you here," I asked him. I knew that this wasn't just some friendly business.

James sighed, and ran a hand through his hair. "Business."

"I don't know anything that you do," I told him, "You'll have to be more specific."

"We-," James started.

"Who is we," I asked cutting him off.

"Umm, the rebels, the resistance, Me and Jace, Cayla," he told me. I nodded thinking about Cayla for a minute, before refocusing on what James was saying.

"And," I asked, making him continue.

"We need you to accept the King's offer."
