Oh, it's just me, myself and I
Solo ride until I die
Cause I got me for life
(Got me for life, yeah)
Oh I don't need a hand to hold
Even when the night is cold
I got that fire in my soul

** Alex's POV **

I sat in a giant room, a steaming plate in front of me. The King was at the head of the table and I was to the left of him. There were three long tables set up, filling the length of the room. We were sitting in the middle table.

Every spot was filled, and there were even people eating in the other two dining rooms that were significantly smaller. I looked at the odd dishes in front of me, and picked at them with my fork. Everyone was chatting and talking, sipping on wine, and pigging out on the feast that had been set in front of us.

"Eat," said the King, gesturing towards my plate. I nodded but made no attempt to try anything. I just moved around the food on my plate, the feeling in my stomach making me sick. The King ignored me, and talked to his people.

"Alex," I heard behind me. I turned to see Cayla, looking nervous.

"What," I asked, my nerves suddenly matching her own.

"We need to talk," she said, "We forgot to mention some things."

"What," I said, "What didn't you tell me?"

"Can we go somewhere private," she asked me, tugging on my arm.

I glanced over at the King who didn't notice anything taking place. I nodded and quickly stood, Cayla pulled me over to Jace and James, who joined us. I led the three of us to my room where we would have another conversation, telling me that I had made a mistake by saying yes.

I opened the door, and let the three rebels into my room. The didn't expect what they saw.

"Wow," said Cayla, "I though you'd be treated like a...."

"Slave," I asked.

"Yeah," said Pixie.

James and Jace glanced around the room until Jace shook his head.

"Not in here," he whispered in my ear, "There are cameras."

"Fuck," I swore, "There's camera's everywhere."

"There isn't anywhere private," asked James.

I thought for a minute, "I don't think that slave common area has cameras." I looked over at Jace, "Do you remember any?"

Jace grimaced as I asked him, and seemed uncomfortable or pained. "I think you're right."

We moved down the castle until we were in the slaves main room. It was as dark and damp as ever, inviting sickness and disease.

Jace did a quick sweep of the room, searching for any cameras or listening devices.

"All clear," he said, rejoining our group.

"What didn't you tell me," I asked.

"............."

"Tell me before the King freaks out that I'm gone," I said, "Please."

Cayla sighed and finally told me, "Y-you a-nd he, the King are....... you are supposed to......, you are in charge of, having, producing a heir."
