It has been two months now since the accident. Everything is better and my life is going great.
Today is Christmas Eve and I'm meeting his family.

As me and Alex walk up to the large country house, Alex squeezes my hand to give me moral support. I'm meeting my boyfriends family oh shit. This isn't going to end well what so ever.
"Don't worry baby girl, they will love you!" He whispers in my ear whilst rubbing circles on my thumb.

"Sure,if I don't make a fool out of myself!" I exclaim nervously.
"You won't and even if you did, they would have to accept you as your the only one for me" He smiles cheekily, shortly after he softly places his lips on mine.

It was a gentle, loving kiss and I got caught in the moment.
"Children these days" A bemused voice from behind us sounds loudly, resulting in us falling apart.
"Oh my gosh , Alex!" I say slapping his chest embarrassed that I have already created a bad impression on his family.
"Nonna!" Alex calls running over to the person who spoke ,who I now realize must be his Grandma.

"Hello my dear!" She says hugging Alex's tall figure. Which is gigantic compared to her small petite frame alike his sisters.

"Now now Alex give your grandmother some air." She chuckles then looks over at me who at this moment is standing there like a drowned chicken! Yes a chicken.
"Hello sweetie I'm Carol, Alex's grandma or Nonna as he and his father say."She smiles gently giving me a hug.
"Um I'm Riley nice to meet you ma'am" I say politely smiling.
"Hunny call me Carol ma am makes me feel old" She replies chuckling at my awkward figure.
"Oh dear Alex what have you been saying about us to her, she looks terrified poor girl" She says scolding Alex whilst she puts an arm round my shoulder.
"Not much Nonna only that you make the best cakes in town" He replied cheekily winking at me. Which results in Carol tugging at his ear. Giving him a fake look of disapproval, before smiling again.
"Cmon in now we can go and get a warm drink" She says warmly, pulling Alex along as well. As we walk inside Alex winks at me and I give him a small nervous smile.
"Your doing amazing baby" He whispers in my ear, squeezing my waist. Looking down at me with a expression of somewhat adoration or maybe even love.

As we walk into the large country kitchen, I look around in amazement everything oozes family from the photos on the walls to the drawings stuck on the fridge. I can see why Alex adores his family.

What if I don't meet his family's expectations?

What if they tell him I'm not worth him?
I run question over question through my head.
"Hey babe stop worrying yourself, I can see it in your eyes you'll make yourself ill." Alex whispers worriedly as he wraps his arm around me. His scent and warmth comforts me.

"Okay, I think I'm ready for this!" I say trying to build my confidence up in a few seconds.
"Darling would you like to take Riley into the lounge and introduce her, I'll bring the drinks in, in a second." She smiles cheerfully patting Alex on his back.
As we walk in the lounge, I see two guys around my age, Alex's older sisters and a young girl crowded round the tv. Maya was going to come here for the holidays, but decided to see her grandparents instead.

"Hey guys! Hey Lou!" Alex greets them smiling widely.
"Al you're here!" The little girl, I'm presuming she's Lou, squeals and runs over to us. She hugs Alex then steps back looks me over then whispers to Alex.

When she pulls back she comes over to me and hugs me.
"You're Riley, Alex talks about you a lot." She smiles watching Alex squirm in embarrassment.

"Yes and you're Lou?" I ask her, a large smile creeped onto my face.

"Yes I'm Lou! My full name is Louise but I don't like it!" She grins toothily.
