'Len! Yuusha! Now!'
An arrow cuts through the air with a sizzling sound before it hits its target. The small filthy pink colored Moul. It looks like a small candy-colored mole.
The Moul growls and hisses in pain before it commences attack at Rinka, who easily pushes it back roughly with her shield.
I don't have time to wait. Everyone is getting tired, we've been fighting for at least a small 20 minutes (counting in Earth time).
I grab the flute and have my staff rest against my shoulder as I play, swaying back and forth a little in time with the notes. Yuusha's Hymn, the song surging with strength. It's called the theme of the Warrior by some.
This Hymn is what made me top of my class, secretly. Secretly because no one but my guild members know I can play it, and they won't mention it outside to anyone other than me.
It was my "second" and "secret" end-project. Send in under the name "Firefly".
I became the city's modern legend. The one who created Yuusha's hymn apparently is the best Bard since the beginning. I didn't know that when I handed it in.
I handed in my second project after my first was grated very low. The teacher didn't give such a low grade because my work wasn't good, but because she didn't like me.
I used a pseudonym to be graded like any other should be graded, non prejudiced.
And I passed, even though no one knows it was me...
I feel contend knowing I wasn't graded bad because I wasn't good enough.
For this song I need to keep playing. Where the effects of Emerald linger in the air and stay for while before they disappear the effect in this tune needs to be fueled continuously, leaving me having to keep playing until I can stop, or have to.
The next hit is delivered by Bakaito, who gets hurt in the process, leaving both him and the Moul wincing. But that Moul doesn't have Usagi.
'Bakaito! Catch!'
In one move the knight catches the small pill out of the air while jumping back from another attack. He doesn't hesitate a split-second to put it into his mouth and swallow.
No medicine takes effect directly, but he should be feeling less pain within a few minutes.
His wounds will be treaded after battle. It's too dangerous to do that now.
A low growling fills my ears as I play, almost startling me enough to loose my concentration. Concentration I need to have the notes fill with their purpose, strength.
When I hear her yell an obviously very angry "Eehh!" I know who it is.
An angry Rinka. An angry lioness.
And an instant kill.
Only when Ritsu signals me to stop I end the song, and the silence it leaves is almost deafening.
Now only the sounds of small insects and birds can be heard in the wake of the labyrinth. It's the middle of the day, the timeframe in which most foe's choose to attack: After they wake up. Midday.
