'Someone give her room! She's scared enough as she is!' He can hear someone calling to the others in the crowd. He can see a tall girl standing in the middle of a clearing in the crowd. Her black hair falls over her shoulders. She's wearing a kimono, but she misses the makeup to be a real Japanese. Her golden eyes fall on him, and he can see the worry in her eyes. She looks like a dog-type Ferae.

Ritsu pushes past the last few people, but what his eyes meet, is something he had hoped to never see again.

'Len, what in the name of the Goddesses...'

It has happened again.... Ritsu can see it in the way the boy is hunched over, huffing, but still searching around with his eyes. He's terrified, again. Ritsu has only seen Len like this one three other occasions, one of them only a few months ago, about two weeks before they graduated from the Academy.

He gets like this for a reason Ritsu doesn't know of completely. It can be any given thing that gets him into this state, from a word, a smell, a simple picture, or a face.

It's been a while too, since Ritsu has seen Len this scared though. Last time we was simply shaken, and refused to talk to him for two weeks, but now...

He's standing with his back against the wall of a shop on the opposite side from the Café, eh, Inn, owned by Madam Joan. His figure is slightly hunched, and he's breathing very fast. That alone is not so very alarming, it would be how any explorer would look like after a general fight.

The alarming thing, is the fact he's holding his one knife in front of him, holding onto it while staring around with eyes so small you can barely see his pupils from a small distance.

So, the boy who's so afraid of hurting people with a weapon he got into shock when he killed a Goo, is now holding onto a knife for what seems to be his dear life, only because he's terrified of something that is probably not even there. That's another nice part of his so called "emphatic gift". It appears the kid can see memories of people through objects. Len had told him all by himself, well, after he had almost choked a grown up man for "hurting her".

What that had been about... Ritsu had absolutely no idea.

'Oi! Len, what are you doing?'

It wasn't that Ritsu even hoped he would respond, but he tries anyway. The boy's head does turn around, and he stares at him with eyes wide open, but there is no recognition. None at all.

'Do you know her?'

Ritsu stares at the girl in front of him. It's the one that called out to the others, the "kimono-wearing-but-not-a-real-Japanese"-girl.

'Do you know her?' She repeats, pointing to Len.

'Yes.' Ritsu answers. He knows him, yes. It isn't the first time though someone mistook Len for a girl, he did the same when he first saw him, asking about the boy's voice.

The girl walks over to him and raises her hand for a shortcut handshake. One of the humans in the crowd starts walking over to Len, to which his form appears to try and shrink even farther into the wall, before he slashes out with the knife.

Not very handy.

Ritsu rushes forward, past the girl in kimono and grabs the (idiotic) man by his hair, which is surprisingly long, to pull him back. He screams in pain, but the knife misses his face by only a hairlenght. And no, not a lenght as long as the man's, but very short hair.

'Get. back.' Ritsu growls, something very unlike him, which he notices and stops immidiately.

'So you know her?' The girl is now next to him again, a worried look on her face. 'That's for the better I think.' She then seems to remember something, and smiles a little at him. 'I'm Keiko by the way. Nice to meet you, Priest.'

Ritsu looks at her with little interest. So she knows his title, but she's not important right now. He needs to get Len off the street, before the City's Guards pass by and arrest him for assaulting a human. That, according to both Ferae present, didn't sound very nice. It would be a disaster for the novice guild, Hikari would have to venture into the Labyrinth without it's skilled Bard and master, and bringing in Len of all people, wouldn't be very clever either.

Now, Ritsu has no doubt the boy could get out simply by jumping out the window or something akin to that, let alone the boy's obviously good manner with words, so he could always to talk himself out of prison, it wouldn't have a good outcome on the long-term situation.

That the Count himself doesn't like Len is no secret, but that doesn't stop the man from trying to get Len, and with him the entire guild Hikari, out of the labyrinth. Getting Len in jail, would not be very wise. It would give sir Harry every reason to disgracefully have the guild resign, thus ruining the chances of Kaito, Rinka, Usagi and himself to find what they're looking for.

Though, what those things are exactly, he doesn't know yet, or, using his standard, he doesn't want to know either.

'Oi Priest,' The dog-ferae asks him. 'if we want to get him off the streets, I suggest we take him to Madam Joan.'

Ritsu nods to her. "If 'e be'aves badly, take 'im to t'e inn."

'Alright, which one of us goes for the knife?' She asks, getting to her point immediately. Ritsu points to himself. It would be useless to get the girl into harm just when she's offering to help, even when it's not done directly.

'Yosh, then, on three.'

As Keiko starts counting Ritsu steps forward toward the boys left side. He wonders briefly if Len is even recognizing what is going to happen, seeing as his eyes are shifting from him to the other Ferae, still fear-stricken, still shaking.

'One.'

'Two.' Ritsu whispers, raising his arms.

'Three!'
