Really that's it? You're not even going to touch him? Well I have news for you hand holding doesn't cut it for me. You know what? You're dead to me. So the next time you need to seduce him don't come to me for help!
Dean sat up straight in his seat and moved his hand from my leg to my side. "There's no need for you to act proper on my count son. I'm just here to see my daughter that's all." "Yeah Dean, it's just Chris." I looked over and smiled at him, standing in the door way and slightly shaking his head no. "Cande you see I am an Admiral and believe it or not some of the well most agency workers treat me well. They don't act like I'm some random person and do whatever they please. If you're done though would you mind giving me and my daughter a moment?" "Of course Admiral, Cande I'll see you sometime later on." Though It wasn't too obvious, it was obvious to me that Dean was trying to get out of the room as fast as he could. I never was able to figure out the fear they had of Chris. He was always just so sweet and not intimidating at all. Maybe that was just my perception of him considering that he had in face taken on the father figure role when everything happened. Even so though, I have never seen him act like a dick to anyone. The only reason I could come up with was because of the Admiral title he had associated with his name.
Chris took the seat where Dean had once been. "You know I think there may be someone in the bathroom that is in need of medical assistance. All I heard them yelling out was oh god! And why me?! Not to mention how Mikaela is standing outside of the door telling who ever is in there that they are going to be okay. Yes what a fine, fine crew I have for the Falcon." Both Chis and I laughed for a good couple of minutes before I got to the point where I could actually talk again and be able to be understood. "Oh that's just Aiden. He uh has issues with some of the stuff he eats. I would take you up on the offer of getting him medical help but I don't think anyone would honestly be able to help him." Again we laughed again, Chris wiped his eye and sighed out heavily. "Oh god it's been a good while since I've laughed like that. Even at my age I still enjoy bathroom humour." Curse you for seeing hims as a father figure. He's such a silver fox! Good god, and look at that smile! Curse you and your un born children from Dean!
"Anyway Cande I didn't only come here to make sure you were okay. I also came here to inform you that your real family is pushing the idea of coming to your wedding with Dean. I have done what I can to act as if I knew nothing but they are non stop. Especially your mother, her and Janeal have gotten into it a number of times. I'm sorry darling but I fear they will be attending whether you like it or not." I shook my heard furiously, "No they are not Chris! They can't! You know just as well as I do how they treat us. I do not want them here at all. Can't I say that there is no wedding or tell them it's not going to happen for a long time? I mean that is pretty believable right? They know I never wanted to get married in the first place. SO it would seem only reasonable that I put it off? Don't just sit there Chris you're supposed to agree with me. Oh yes Cande that is a good solution you came up with. Why didn't I think of that, you're so smart and I love you the most don't tell your sister that. Okay now it's your turn." I sat in bed waiting for him to repeat what I had just said but I knew he wouldn't. "Oh i'm sorry. Cande you're smart but you're not that smart and I love you as much as I love your sister. There I said it." "No you didn't!" I replied burrowing under the sheet.
His silence was what caused me to come out of my somewhat transparent fort. He held out his hand and in it sat the badge of the agency worker that I had taken. "You see this?" He asked, all sort of playfulness long gone. I nodded my head yes and looked from it to him. "You didn't know him. He was stationed at the northern base, he was a good man. A good, good man with a family of his own. He was sent on a mission down south but I suppose he got sucked into a trap like you did. We were never able to find his body, nor did we have any idea as to what had happened to him. But thanks to you, we now know. We can break the news to his wife instead of her wondering what happened to him. As sad as the news is going to be at least she knows what happened. Instead of thinking of countless ways he could still be alive. Hoping that one day he will come home and see his children once again and everything will be fine again. He died an honorable death Cande. This is the part of the job I hate." His voice cracked as he continued to look at the crumple badge he held in his hands.
