i am a phantom breathing

i am exhaling and inhaling

wasted oxygen but

there is nothing but emptiness

left behind,

you can tear apart this ribcage

this ribcage tying back this

empty, echoing heart

my soul barely shining

a jail for this vortex

sucking in all light

all hope.

you won't find anything inside

maybe ashes

some embers

because this is a burnt world

with all fuel lighted and gone

i am breathing

but I breathe carbon dioxide

and the smoke

of the once alive hearth
