It was 7:30, and Dan Howell and Phil Lester were currently covered in a mound of blankets and pillows, eating giant bowls of popcorn and maltesers.

Phil chomped on a piece of popcorn as he looked through his movie selection. "What should we watch?" He'd questioned, turning to Dan, who was hugging a bag of maltesers.

"Comedies are fun." Dan shrugged, popping a malteser into his mouth before scanning his eyes over Phil's shelf of movies. "You've got good choices, I'll go with anything. Go ahead and pick."

Phil grinned at him. "I've got some good horror movies." He suggested, wiggling his eyebrows and flashing a quick mischievous smile.

Dan rolled his eyes. "Horror movies are so cliché though! There's never any good ones these days." He shook his head, disappointed.

Phil gave him another fishy look before grabbing a movie that Dan didn't see the title of, and popped it into the player.

"They may be cliché..." Phil started, crawling up next to Dan, making himself comfortable with all of the blankets and pillows. "But they're also a really good excuse."

Dan raised an eyebrow, eating another malteser. "Good excuse for what?"

Phil smirked, then putting his arm around Dan's shoulder, pulling him so close it made Dan snuggle into his side.

"Good excuse to do this." Phil said, causally eating a few pieces of popcorn.

Dan turned a deep shade of red, and nervously ate another candy. While Phil seemed totally calm and content, focusing on the movie, Dan couldn't stop thinking about the position they were in.

Don't get him wrong, Dan loved cuddling Phil. He just hadn't been held like this in so long, especially by someone who he liked so much.

As cool as Dan was trying to act, it didn't seem to work, because Phil then whispered in his ear, hot breath on Dan's neck,

"Relax. Get comfortable, Dan. This is fun." Phil smiled, pulling Dan closer so there was absolutely no empty space between them.

Dan's head now rested on Phil's shoulder, their bodies practically spooning next to each other. Dan took a few deep breaths, telling himself to stay calm and just go with it.

The jump scare on the tv didn't help with that at all.

Dan let out a small squeak when it had happened, and Phil thought it was quite possibly the cutest thing he had ever heard.

"Oh! Is Danny scared?" Dan didn't have to look, he knew Phil must've been grinning right then.

"N-no! It just caught me by surprise!" Dan snapped, cheeks getting red again.

"Awe, I see. Surprised." Phil replied, not sounding convinced. "Well, alright then."

There was silence for a few moments between them before Dan felt a pair of lips at the top of his head.

Did Phil just-

"You're still tense. Calm down, Dan. I'm here." Phil said, nudging him, which didn't take much effort, since they were so close to each other.

Dan already wanted Phil to kiss the top of his head again. To whisper sweet random things in his ear, to pet Dan's hair.

So he buried his face into Phil's chest a bit more, tangling their legs together. He felt Phil slightly tighten his grip on him, and he smiled.

Dan Howell loved Phil Lester.

He just didn't know it yet.
