Love Shouldn't Cause Pain?

"It calls him..." What was she... She didn't. My eyes widened add I clutched Harley. If I was worried before now I think I might have a panic attack. We weren't even looking at the door, she was distracting us of course she is she's Selina Kyle... The slyest of us all. 

"You led the Bat here! This is OUR HOME!" There was no way I was letting him anywhere near Harley. I dragged Harl behind me, I think I was a bit rough but he was not taking her to Arkham. If they came from the warehouse that meant Joker was back there, if we got taken he... he could do it again. No, we're not going back. I won't let him take us.... Selina will pay for this that two faced little-

"You- you can't take us back there... He'll... Do IT again..." I felt Harl cowering behind me. It's like she read my mind, if we had to we would fight our way out. I felt my stomach churn... She was so innocent, so childlike she shouldn't have to worry about things like that!

" I'm not here to take you back. Let Catwoman down NOW!" His voice still showing no emotion, I wonder if he really cared about Selina... I guess there's only one way to find out... Let's put him to the test.

"You're not the one with the power right now Bat. Tell me what you're doing here now or she dies!" I command my babies to get slightly tighter, just so she would squirm a little. I turned to face Harl, her blue eyes burrowing into my soul, she's looking at me like I just killed her stupid pets. She didn't leave my side though, she knew I would protect her at any cost. Sure a dead cat didn't really effect me less competition but anyways...

" I'm not here to fight I was holding this for Se... Catwoman" He bent down near the door, not looking at what he was getting... He was focused on Selina. He pulled out a gift bag and put it down. Down on its side... Weird. Wait. No. No no no no.

"Awwwwwww!!!" I looked at Harley, I think I might be deaf in one ear now... Thanks. My head drifted back to the bag. Black, tiny, fluffy, tail and walking this way on all fours.

"Can I come down now?!?" I released Selina not even looking at her, I was so focused on this fuzzy ball of black fur.

"Kitty... You know I could go back and get Bud and Lou. It's not like there gone I just didn't have time.Come to think about I couldn't find them no where." I looked up at Selina in the Bats arms, what was that look? I know I probably cut of most of her circulation for a while but still...

"Harley..." Her beautiful blonde locks took a while to look towards the Cat and the Bat. She was so cheerful, I loved seeing Harl like this. Sure it was because of a new pet that would pee all over my babies but maybe it was worth it. I guess it was better than those two scabby hyenas.

"Harley..." Selina looked down at the happy Harley and then the Bat. What was happening?! With an encouraging nod from the Bat she continued. Like me Harley looked confused, still smiling because of that ball of fluff but confused "it's... It's Bud... and - and Lou."

Harley's smile faded and my heart ached seeing her happiness fade. What the hell is she saying. No Joker wouldn't... Yes - yes he would. And he did. I crouched down next to Harley and the fluff. Oh gosh, she looked like she was about to explode. Guilt took over my whole body, I never did like those two but they didn't deserve to die. I thought about all the times they guarded Harl from that monster. I bet it was slow, he loved inflicting pain on everyone not just Harley. Then again nobody else stayed with him after except Harl...

"What- what about Bud and Lou... Where are they. " As she said it I could see the realisation set in. I pulled her close, she's so vulnerable she doesn't need everyone looking at her. "They're - they're gone" Her voice cracking ripped through my heart.

The fluff looked at Harley with piercing... Oh. It looked up with one sea blue eye whilst the other was a rich green. It's like this tiny ball of fluff on feet could tell something was up. I felt my shirt get damp as my eyes followed the fluff. What was it doing, it was pushing it Harley it didn't seem to hurt her but it was very persistent.

"Har-" I turned and shot a look at Selina she quickly stopped. I don't care what she was going to say, Harl needed a moment to mourn.

I rubbed Harley's back, she was probably blaming herself like always. Bud and Lou were like her children. The little black fuzz ball had made it's way onto Harley's lap. All of a sudden Selina made her way over to Harls side. Sure I didn't particularly like Selina but if she is what made Harley happy I couldn't take that away from her. Harley always loved Selina, maybe it was just jealously talking but you can never trust a cat there so sly and untrustworthy, at the first sense of danger they will leave you to fend for yourself.

"Was it quick? " Please don't be stupid Selina, she can't handle the truth. Nothing Joker does is quick, especially inflicting pain.

She had a questioning look on her face as she opened her mouth. Don't let this be a time where you stop lying Selina!

"It seemed like they were put to sleep." The Bat slid in just before Selina screwed it all up. This is the only time I have respected the Bat, he knew she didn't need to here the truth. "They didn't feel a thing." His voice seemed softer than usual. Whilst this was taking place Selina just looked confused, she was going to tell her the truth.... Stupid Cat....
