Love Shouldn't Cause Pain?

All I wanted was to comfort Harley but I couldn't. The only thing I could do was twist her hair like she wanted. I tried to ignore the constant circling of Phoebe's finger on my exposed flesh. It felt so good but I didn't ask for this. I didn't want any of this. Her touch was so soothing, so warm. I could feel her staring at me with those heavenly hazel eyes of hers. Maybe if I look at her she would just stop. Please stop.

I tilted my head to gaze into to her beautiful eyes. As my eyes met hers she gave me a devilish smile. Why is she doing this to me, I don't want her... I want Harley. I shifted my gaze from her and looked upon Harley. She's so innocent, so pure. Why couldn't I just love her... Why do I even want her, she loves Phoebe. I see the way Harley looks at her and I don't blame her, she probably knows I could never love her I'm just a plant... Plants can't love. But they can get hot. Really hot. Where was the heat coming from, I can't handle this much heat.

I scanned the room for danger but there was none, just me, Harley and Phoebe... Phoebe's hand was getting further up my body, the heat was following. People shouldn't be that hot right? My worried eyes met Phoebe's and they were lighter, like before they looked more red than hazel. When our eyes met the heat calmed, it was the perfect temperature. My eyes got heavy, I fought to keep the open but I failed. My twisting of Harley's hair slowed but Phoebe's hand kept on making circles as I drifted of.

🕓 hours later 🕓

I woke as I fell, Harley was nuzzled into my side and Phoebe was pushed up against her back with one hand on my stomach. I haven't woken up at this time in a while, seems like everything was reverting back to normal. I slipped out from under Harley and made my way out of the bedroom as quietly as possible. I didn't want to leave Harley with Phoebe but I had to get back to my lab and keep working on...

My lab door was wide open. I ran towards the door and looked around frantically. Purple, yellow, green, blue there was a rainbow of colour all over the floor not to mention all the glass. Everything was gone! How did I not hear all this, I'm normally such a light sleeper. Wait... What did all this, everyone is upstairs except from...

Skylar!!! Oh gosh where is Skylar. If I was frantic before I don't even think there is a word to describe me now. I ran around my lab avoiding most of the smashed glass...all of these chemicals, anything could of happened to her. After a minute I saw her. In the corner under my workbench... Sleeping? Oh gosh please be sleeping. She looked normal all black and still fuzzy, she hasn't ingested anything I don't think. I crept closer and closer and finally knelt down on the floor... Oh thank god, there was a slight rise and fall of fluff. She's alive. I went to pull her from under the table, so far so good. She must of felt me, she started to shift and eventually peeled her beautiful little eyes open. She looked at me and then it happened, hasn't ingested anything I thought. Skylar arched her back and as she did her whole body sprouted small but visible red thorns... Great. I tried to calm her, well let's just say that was a bad idea. Those thorns, Yeah they came flying at me and well those thorns were poisoned. Thankfully I'm immune to all plant poisons and toxins but that gave Skylar enough time to make a run for it.

I searched the whole base and she was nowhere to be seen, unless she in the bedroom. No, I shut the door I'm sure I did. Skylar couldn't get in before she won't be able to now. Unless she licked up some of the titan stuff... I was just about to run upstairs.

🚪 Knock on the door 🚪

Seriously! I stormed over to the door and threw the door open, I didn't check the cameras. Who ever it was I was ready to get rid of them.

"Wow Pam could you be any less excited to see me?"

"Selina, I'm sorry I totally forgot... Get in. Get in." I grabbed her arm and dragged her inside. She was dressed in civilian clothing and had a small suitcase in her hand.

"Okay, okay. What's with you? What's going on is it Harley, or the new kid or you? Oh gosh Pam are you okay?"

"Not now Selina I need to find..."

"Find what?!"

"Erm... Funny thing. I need to find... Skylar..."

"You lost her?!?"

"No, no its not like that. She got into my lab and smashed some stuff up whilst we were sleeping..." I gripped my hair firmly. " she kind of licked up some of the chemicals" I saw Selina's jaw drop and her eyes widen. Oh no, I'm in for it. I walked away and started looking for Skylar.

"Seriously?! You're just gonna walk away we need to talk abo-"

"Shhhh!" I saw her, looks like her thorns grew back. " Selina stay back"

I approached her ever so carefully. If I scare her she could hurt Selina, she's not immune like I am. How I'm I gonna do this?

"Pam... Can't - can't you just control her... If - if she's part plant you can tell her what her to do right?" she's right! I guess cats over there isn't as dumb as I thought.

I backed up and focused. I shut my eyes and connected my mind to Skylar's, this was going to be easier than I thought. I made her put her thorns away and made her calm down. I detached my mind from Skylar's and looked over at her... She seemed normal, Sure that could change at any moment but for now she seemed calm. I edged towards her and she looked at me. I got closer and closer but still no thorns... Wait. Skylar started walking towards me, I stopped moving. She pushed her head up against my leg... No thorns. Looks like they are just a defence mechanism. After she stopped circling my legs she galloped over to Selina....
