Only seconds later, I regained consciousness. I blinked away the dots in my eyes to see Tyzon’s face above me. I remembered what I had done and realized that he must have caught me as I fell. “Sephora, are you okay?” he asked with worry etched across his face.

“Y…Yeah I think I just…” I said shakily. I had never passed out in my entire life.

“Shh, it’s okay. What you did may have saved all of us.” At his kind remark, my heart beat quickened. He gently helped me sit up and gain my bearings. My head still felt light; I waited a couple minutes, and then, with Tyzon’s help, I stood up.

I finally noticed that everyone was still in the room and they were staring at me. My faced flushed. It felt weird to be the center of attention. Turning my face quickly, I searched the crowd for Aris. What did he mean he’d see me and my friend again? I thought quickly, he meant Aris? When I didn’t see her, I started to panic.

I whipped my head towards Tyzon. “Where’s Aris?!”

“She’s fine; she’s over there,” he said as he pointed to a figure bent over some one lying on the floor.

As I walked towards Aris, I looked around and took in the damage. People lay on the ground everywhere. I realized that they weren’t dead, but instead tranquilized; I could still see their chests moving up and down slightly. Shards of glass littered the floor and several tables had been overturned to use as shields. Thankfully I spotted all of our new friends; somehow they had managed to keep themselves safe.

The crowd began murmuring quietly, likely wondering what had really just happened and what we were all going to do.

I jogged the rest of the way over to Aris who was studying the condition of a young man who had been shot with a tranquilizer dart.

“Do you think they will be okay?” I asked when Aris finally looked up me.

“Judging from my observations so far, they should all be fine once they receive an antidote and a couple of hours of rest. I can’t possibly figure out why he only used tranquilizers though…” she answered thoughtfully.

“It makes me wonder to... I mean, what was his real motive here?” I said, thinking aloud. If he’d wanted to get rid of us, he could have, I thought, but then again he did say he’d see us again...

Aris’ hand reached out to the young man she was examining. For a second she hesitated, as if she was unsure of something, but then she reached out again and pulled the tranquilizing dart out of the man. Seconds later, his eyes started to flutter.

“Blythe!” She whipped her head around and called her. In seconds she was at Aris’ side.

            “What’s wrong?” Blythe asked worriedly.

“Actually I think this is really good. I’m thinking that Thaeoul used an anesthetic in the tranquilizer darts. But they’re all going to need to rest in the medical bay for a bit. Do you think you could get the beds ready for them?”

            “Sure. I’ll get to it.”

I watched my friend as she focused on the man in front of her. I had always thought Aris was really good at medical things. It suited her.

Aris turned to me. “Will you stay here with him for a moment?” she asked.

“Sure.” I watched as Aris hopped up and quickly walked over to Tyzon.
