*Rexan*
“So what are your next plans Tyzon? The medical crisis has been solved now, so what will our next focus be?” I asked him that night when we were in our room before bed.
“We have got to take down Thaeoul as soon as possible. I have a feeling if we don’t soon that things will keep getting worse and worse,” Tyzon replied.
I saw his eyebrows furrow. He must be holding something back, I thought, but it’s better not to ask right now. “What is your strategy?”
“I don’t have one at the moment. Right now we have to work on making enough weapons for every member and creating new ones. While that is being done, we will have to come up with a strategy together.”
“Good thinking. Strategies aside, I’ve wanted to talk to you about something.”
“Is it Aris?”
I could feel my eyes instantly cloud over. “No…”
“What happened with you two anyhow? When we came back from the trip you seemed to be fine, but ever since the party you’ve been ignoring her.”
I snapped, “She rejected me! I asked as nicely as possible… but I guess I was a bit upset at her being so friendly with Talon lately…”
Tyzon looked deep in thought for a minute. “I have observed this too. It is a bit odd…”
“Anyhow… What I wanted to ask about was Sephora.” I was glad to change the subject.
“What about her?” Tyzon asked, his interest arisen.
“You obviously like her.”
“And?”
“You didn’t deny it!”
“Why would I?”
“Then you really do!”
“What’s so surprising about that?”
“Well I just thought… you know… because of Nylie you would-”
Tyzon’s nostrils flared and his eyes burned. Yikes… bad time to ask that, I thought.
“I told you never to mention that again!” Tyzon said fiercely, “The past is the past Rexan.”
“Sorry…” I mumbled, a bit taken back by Tyzon’s reaction. Awkward silence followed, so I dropped the subject and went to bed.
*Aris*
I went to my job the next morning feeling a bit groggy and bleary eyed. I got on the elevator and it stopped on the twelfth floor to let in another passenger. I was surprised to see that it was Talon.
“Hello Talon, what are you doing?” I said a bit astonished to see him. I thought about Rexan’s outburst the other night at the club, but I instantly pushed it back away.
“Just heading down to the meeting rooms. You off to the medical bay?”
“Yeah.”
“So I was wondering. Are you doing anything tonight after dinner?”
I thought for a second. “Not that I know of… why?”
“Well I was wondering if you wanted to go to Club Aria with me tonight.”
“What is this? A date or something?”
“Kind of like that,” he said with a roguish grin.
I thought about it and answered, “Sure.”
“Great. Meet me outside the main doors after dinner.”
