*Rexan*
I watched in slow motion as Talon threw the ball of fire into the room and shot down Aris, before he whipped around and left. I instantly knew I needed to get Aris out, quickly. I carefully picked up her unconscious body and carried her to the door as fast as I could. Just as the door finally slid open, an explosion burst out behind me, sending us hurtling towards the floor. I shook myself off and yelled, “Blythe! Hurry! It’s an emergency!” I leapt to my feet and quickly engaged the fire safety measures. I instantly heard the alarm go off, doors sliding shut, and the air being sucked out of the room. After a few seconds, I could no longer hear anything burning that quickly died down to silence.
Blythe finally ran up and when she saw Aris on the floor, she asked what happened.
“I can’t explain right now. I will help you carry her to a bed. She’s gonna need the tranquilizer vaccination shot.” I carefully picked Aris up once again and gently laid her into a hospital bed. “I’m sorry to run off, but I need to tell Tyzon what happened-immediately. I will be back shortly though.”
Blythe just nodded in understanding. I ran directly to Tyzon’s office as fast as I could. I burst into the office and Tyzon seemed stunned at my heavy breathing.
“What’s wrong?” he asked anxiously.
“To be honest, I’m not entirely sure,” I said through breaths, “but Talon just caught a room on fire, tranquilized Aris, and escaped.”
Tyzon looked a bit shocked, but then shook his head. “I was afraid this would happen. We should go back, immediately.”
“You should get Sephora.”
“You can’t?”
“I don’t want to leave Aris.”
“… Okay. I’ll meet you there.”
*Sephora*
I started shaking when Tyzon told me the news. This fear took away any nervousness I might have felt as we rushed down to the medical bay together.
I burst through the doors. “Blythe is she okay?” I asked immediately.
“She’ll be fine Sephora. You don’t have to worry.”
I sighed and took a breath of relief. “Why would that imbecile do this to her?! I knew I had a bad feeling about him!” I said angrily.
“What happened? Who did this to her?” Blythe asked timidly.
Rexan and I both looked to Tyzon. “Everyone will know soon enough,” Tyzon said, “It was Talon. He has betrayed us, but we don’t know why.”
Blythe gasped. “Talon?! I can’t believe it!”
“It’s true,” Rexan practically spat.
I felt sick to my stomach and my eyes were cast down to the floor. To think I could have tried harder to prevent all this… I thought.
Rexan saw the expression cross her face and seemed to read my thoughts. “None of us could have fixed this Sephora.” He bent down to make me look him in the eye.
