Thomas when you get captured by a Griever

"Stay DOWN!" Thomas's familiar voice yells to the others as you run into in the cornfield, his hand securely on your back as you drop to the ground in hiding.

You wince and cover your ears as the shouts and yells of the other Gladers being killed by the monsters echo through the Glade.

"Y/N. Y/N look at me" Thomas says cupping your fearful face in his large hands, "we're going to be okay. It's all going to be okay" he says in the most convincing voice he could.

You nod and give him a chaste smile signaling you're okay. He returns the smile and brushes a strand of hair from your face taking your hands off your ears.

"I'm so scared Thomas" You admit to the boy in front of you. "I won't let anything happen to you Y/N. But I have to tell you somethi-" He stops before he could finish because his eyes raise above my head in terror.

"Thom-" You start to question only for the air to get knocked out of your lungs and adrenaline kicking in as you feel your feet being lifted from the ground.

"NO!!" You hear Thomas's horrid scream as a pair of claws dig in your back. As a stinging pain tries to scream, the abyss and the numbing feeling causes the world to fade away.

-TIME SKIP-

You wake up three days later with a hand clutching yours softly. You try to open your eyes but your exhaustion causes you to remain in your same laying position. You try to move, twitch, anything that would spark a movement in your fingers.

"Y/N?" You recognize the voice as Thomas's. You try with all your limited strength to signal your awakening, but nothing works.

"I'm going mad aren't I?" He says removing his warm touch from your hand. "I can't believe I would think you'd wake up. I can't believe I wold think I'd be able to protect you" He pauses running a hand through his messy hair.

"Godammit Y/N I need you to wake up. I need you to open your eyes. Your beautiful goddamn eyes. I need you to be here with me. Make me smile, laugh, and be there for me. I know it's selfish but I can't do this without you. I'd go crazy without you. I-I" he chokes on his words contemplating the right ones to make out.

"I love you Y/N"

The four words send your body straight up from the bed causing a wave of nausea over you and back down on your back again. Thomas jumps from his seat in sight of you.

"Thomas" You breathe out as he places both hands on your shoulders. "Y/N. You-You're alive" He says moving his hands to your cheeks smiling a wide grin.

"I love you too" You say causing Thomas's grin to disappear in shock.

"Y-You heard that?" You nod your head. "You couldn't have done anything to save me Thomas. Don't blame yourself"

"Never leave me again"

"Never" You say before he places his lips against yours.
