Your date stood you up at your dance

You cried softly to yourself as you sat on your bed. You couldn't convince yourself to get out of your dress. Even though the dance was long over by now, you hoped he would show up.

You were so excited to go to the dance with Luke. He was the new guy in school and you couldn't believe he asked you to homecoming, but he probably found someone else to find interest in.

"Is she here? Can I see her?" Your best friend Dylan asked your mother downstairs. You heard footsteps coming up the stairs quickly, and for a split second you thought it was Luke.

Dylan cracks your bedroom door open and peaked his head inside. His tie was hanging around his neck and his coat was unbuttoned, signifying that he just came from the dance.

"Hey," He said walking in as you wiped away tears. "Hi," You said softly looking up at your best friend.

Dylan sat down next to you on your bed and grabbed your hand, stroking it gently. You tried your best to hold back the tears, but you couldn't contain yourself and rested your head on Dylan's chest.

"I saw Luke at the dance, I was trying to find you," He said stroking back some of your curled hair you spent hours working on.

"I'm being stupid. I was just so excited that someone was interested in me, you know? I bet he was grinding against one of those fake blonde twigs," You laughed but Dylan remained silent. Suddenly he stood up and started pacing slowly in front of you.

"Dylan?" You asked, he usually paced when he was angry or nervous. "You think he was the only one interest in you, Y/N?" He blurted. "What?" You asked confused.

"You still don't get it so you? I'm interested in you, Y/N. Heck I think I even love you! I've loved you ever since I met you and you've been so blind to see it," He said kneeling in front of you and taking your hands in his.

"You-You love me?" You asked in disbelief. "Of course I do, Y/N. How could I not?"
