Jellal's POV
"Zeref has already become King and soon everything would go chaos in both world. You know what that means do you?" I looked down to the ground, "I know but I'm not ready yet. Can we talk about this later, I need to save Wendy first. Sorry." I walked pass him as the others followed. Mest grabbed hold of my hand, "Please Jellal, you have to, otherwise..."
I snapped at him, "Otherwise what?" He stopped talking for a minute and I sighed calming down my temper, "Sorry for raising my voice."
"Its fine I understand you're frustrated, but let me help you rescue Wendy." My eyes widened when he said while holding both of my hands. "I know how the palace is. I can get you to the prison cells." Everyone were speechless. I gasped, "You know how?" He nodded, "I've been there once when Zeref offered me to serve him as the captain of the army but I rejected his offer. I promised your father that I will serve you till the end. So I left the palace and went into hiding. Zeref can't find you no matter what cause if he do, who knows what he will do to you next."
"I've met him before." I said as his eyes widened in fear. "What?" He shook my shoulders, "He found you?!?" I nodded as he sighed heavily and took out something from his pocket and gave it to me. "Take this map. It's the palace route and it will guide you to where your sister is."
"How did you get the map?" I asked and he smiled, "The day when I met Zeref and I rejected him, that's when I secretly took the map when it fall off from one of the counselors. I kept it safe till now." I smiled at him, "Thank you. I'll return the favor someday."
"There's no need for that. As long as you are back safely with your sister that's enough for me." I nodded my head and left along with others.
Zeref's POV
I snickered for no reason till Invel turned asking me, "What's wrong sire?" I laughed wiping off my tears from my eyes, "He's coming."
"Who sire?" he asked as I run through my hair facing him grinning, "You know who I'm talking about."
"Should I prepare for an attack?" I shook my head, "Just let them be. Things are getting interesting. I'll see what would you do Jellal, in fact you have two choices...Saving one's life or sacrificing the another."
"You seemed to look arrogant Zeref." I looked up seeing Wendy standing at the side of the door. "Indeed I am." I stood up walking towards her, "Your brother would be coming in an hour's time. I leave it to you to handle." She smiled, "Rest assured Zeref, I know how to handle him. His personality is too soft almost like a little child. That's the reason why he always get hurt easily." I was shocked by her words. The things she mentioned about his personality is almost the same as I am. No, that was in the past and I am not same anymore. I'm different, a new person that greed only for power and respect. Then I looked at her, patting her head, "I'm sure you'll do well." She looked up to me with her pretty brown orbs as I left the throne room heading to my chambers. "Well somebody's going to get hurt."
TIMESKIP
Jellal's POV
"We're finally here." said Erza as we stopped behind the trees looking at the palace. I opened te map that Mest gave t to me. "I guess this must be the back route of the palace. we could sneak in there and find the prison cells." I said while reading the map directions. "Wait a minute. There's a secret passage below the palace. Here." Erza spotted as she pointed for the rest of us to see. "You're a genius!" I said as Erza started blushing. "Come on, let's get started before I get hungry again." said Natsu as he and Gray jumped out of the bush and headed over to the back route quietly. Erza and I followed them. We hunched down passing several guards at the side and sneaked in through the window that was opened. "It's the kitchen!" said Natsu drooling over the raw meat that was placed on the table. Gray pulled him and we hid below the long table. "Idiot, you could have make a scene. Quite drooling will ya." said Gray as Natsu glared at him. "Whatever."
"Who goes there?" We heard a voice as we shut our mouths hiding quietly. Footsteps were getting closer. After that it was quiet and I slowly looked out checking the surrounding. I gave a signal as we quickly dashed out from the royal kitchen and headed halfway the hallway. It was nearly an hour and there's still no sign of the secret passage. I looked over at the map but this time it changes by itself. "What the hell? This map changed its routes." We all stopped and Erza took the map and looked at it. "I'm thinking this is no ordinary map. There's magic in it. We need to keep our guard."
"Too late I'm afraid." We all stopped turning towards the voice. That voice is so familiar. "I was expecting you, Jellal." I turned around seeing Wendy standing in front of us. My eyes widened seeing her standing before me. I sighed in relief running to her and hugged her as tears streamed down. "I'm glad you're ok, Wendy."
She hissed, "Don't you dare touch me." I was shocked as I let go of her seeing a different Wendy. Her gaze is not the same as the Wendy that I knew before. "What's wrong with you Wendy?" I shook her, "Have they done something to you? Why are you not saying? Answer me!"
Then she snickered glaring at me with her red eyes, "There's nothing wrong with me Jellal, besides, I'm doing well as you see me now. Zeref is taking good care of me unlike you."
I was stunned, "What?"
She lifted my chin, "To be honest I hate you brother. You are selfish and cruel never even cared when I was in danger back then. You could have rushed back to safe me but instead you were busy dating with you girlfriend while I suffered a few days locked up here. I was waiting, hoping to see you again but then I saw Zeref. He was the one that took care of me this few days, keep me well clothed and make sure I have proper meals. I'm sick and tired of your stupid love sick relationships and stories."
"Wendy!" I heard Erza screamed behind as she was about to slap Wendy. I stopped her hand and she looked at me. "Just leave it Erza."
"But why Jellal?"
"Let her talk how she feels." I turned looking back at Wendy. "You're right, I was selfish, cruel and even bothered with my own life."
"Jellal." Erza muttered as I eyed at her and she looked down feeling angry. I took Wendy's hand, "Come home Wendy." She flinched her hand away and took a few steps backwards, "This is my home now. So leave."
"Have you not realize Wendy, you are hurting your brother's feelings." Erza snapped as she came forward. "Erza..."
"I thought you were a kind person and a good sister that always care for others, but what's the meaning of this. Why are you being mean?"
"You want to know why?" I looked up at Wendy. Erza stopped and stared at her.
"I hate the both of you, no all of you actually. Why do I have to care for his feelings, he always too kind to people and ended up getting hurt. Well, that's how life is for him. Here's a piece of advice Jellal, softness is the last thing that you need."
"That's it I had it enough!" Erza yelled as she headed towards Wendy with her sword. "Stop it Erza! Please!" I said but she was far too ahead. I ran after her along with Gray and Natsu trying to stop her. Then, someone stopped between them. "My, my is that a way for you dealing with people Erza?"
"Invel!" Erza said as she jumped back. He must be...that man who accompanied Zeref the other say at the ball. "What have you done with her?" I asked as he straightened his glasses. "You're not hurt Wendy?"
"No I'm fine, luckily you came in before I get killed by her." said Wendy.
He looked back as the floor started to freeze and ice rises from the floor all the way up the pillars. His eyes glowed white, "Now, there's no way you all could escape from here."
Why Wendy...why...
