Zeref's POV
"I'm waiting...Jellal..." I snickered lashing out my dark blades, just waiting to release them. He grunted as he used his dark altaris trapping me within the area and blasted a few seconds later. My wounds quickly healed back as I got ready for the next ambush. He appeared and gave a kick from the other side. I lost my stand and was pushed behind. Then he leaped up in the air waiting to strike another attack but I stopped using my immobilization magic. I grinned making my way towards him, "Here I thought you might show me some of your interesting moves, but, I'm not fully entertained by them. Well, I send you my goodbyes, Jellal." I used my death predation destroying everything within the range of the area. "Hmph, in the end only the strong one survives." Suddenly a strong dark whirlwind formed as I looked back, smiling to myself. Looks like he managed to escaped from my attacks. How sly of you Makarov, keeping a secret pure blood up your sleeve all these years.
Jellal came out of that whirlwind and pulled out few magic attacks along with few punches. I laughed blocking and dodging most of them. I held his fists preventing him from giving the next attack and hit back at his abdomen causing him to gagged out blood. He clutched onto his stomach and stood back up. "Looks like the wounds still did the best of you. Death Orb!" I chanted the spell sending towards him.
Jellal's POV
I flinched transporting that attack straight back at him. He grinned and gave another one. I absorbed his attack and changed its form through a roar. I watched as the fire kept spreading all over Magnolia and that monster releasing its attacks, almost destroying the whole city. Innocent people were running around and some of them were captured and killed by the vampires. I hitched as I flew over to the monster and released some of my attacks but none of it works. What Levy said was right. I'll have to find its weak spot, but where? "I'm not done yet Jellal!" I looked up seeing Zeref gripping over my shoulder and dragged me down to the ground. I grunted as he grinned, "No matter how many times you tried, it won't kill me, I'm immortal ever since from the beginning."
TIMESKIP
Erza's POV
Where am I? What happen to master Mavis and Jellal... "Jellal!" I shot up after recalling everything that happened. "Woah slow down Erza." said Levy. I gripped on her shoulders, "Jellal where is he? Is he alright?" I said but LEvy just kept quiet without saying a word. "Big brother is fighting against Zeref and he's planning on defeating the monster too." Wendy spoke up as I stood up ignoring the pain. "Hold on." Meredy tried to stopped me. "I won't leave him fighting all by himself. I made a promise that I'll be with him no matter what."
Gajeel sighed, "He has a message for you." Before he could say it I stopped him. "I don't want to hear it."
"But Erza..."
"I said I don't want to hear it. I'm going up there and do my best to stop this." I said as I ran off ignoring their calls. All I want is to be with him and I'm not going to let anything happened to him.
Jellal's POV
Damn, that's not good. The wound at my chest is reopening again. I'll have to find its weak spot fast. Zeref came over stomping his feet over my head. "As I see you are getting weaker Jellal. I'm still impress that you still can control your transformation. I can tell that your soul is slowly disintegrating bit by bit." He's right about it. I can feel part of my conscious starts to fade off. Ggrrr...stand up! Get back on your feet before all of this end. I flinched throwing a kick at him. "I'm not giving up till I finish you Zeref." My vision slowly got blur and my body is getting wobbly.
Zeref came back up looking all new as he rushed towards me. I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath before I could get my next move on him. As we both were about to hit each other Mavis threw herself between us and took the damage out of no-where.
Mavis's POV
I had to do it. After Jellal has saved me from Zeref's control, I finally realized what my power was actually meant for. "Mavis...why did you..." Zeref said as I looked at him with tears at my eyes, "I have to do it in order to save you both."
"What?" Both of them let go as I gripped on Zeref's shoulders looking straight at him. "You have been blinded by the darkness. I understand your pain, you must be terrified watching your parents killed by the hunters." His eyes widened, "How did you know that?" I shook my head, "I knew it when I looked at your memories that night when I first met you. I used my magic to see everything and that's why I decided to bring you back to the light but things got in the way and you were so fully determined of destroying the human world."
He snickered, "Sacrificing yourself to stop the battle, how clever you are Mavis. Even if I have the power to battle and kill you..."
"If you want to continue fighting, I'll give it everything I've got naturally. I'll stop no matter what and bring you back to the light." I said smiling as I touched his lips, "Like I said before, I will always love you Zeref. Don't push your true feelings away, I know your heart." He sighed as one tear streamed down his face and he gave a soft smile, "Back then...I wanted to die. I cursed my immortal body but then...when I met you, I found a reason to live." One of his hands stroke at my cheek, "Although I found that reason, it still haunts me. I had no choice but to fulfill my destiny."
"You still have a chance of stopping all of this." I said back but he shook his head. "No Mavis...there's no point of turning back. I'm already used to this path. You don't have to feel sorry for me..." Jellal came over and gave a punch at his face. "Is that how you are going to live for the rest of your life?"
"Jellal..." I said softly. "Are you trying to run away from your problems?!? Is that how you are going to do it?!?" He gripped his neck, holding him up high. "Don't keep pushing yourself like this! Look around you, is this what you really want? Destroying everything in your path and gained nothing but satisfaction only?!? Think about it...how would your parents feel when they watched you like this?" He snapped and give another hit at Jellal. "You won't even understand the pain that I felt!"
"I do...Zeref...I know how you felt when you lost your love ones." he wiped off the blood from his mouth. "We both had the same pain seeing our parents die except my mom erased my memories. Revenge isn't the whole thing...you just need to forgive them and move on."
"Forgive them? To you is easy but for me...I don't know..." Zeref sighed heavily as his hand ran through his hair. "Very well...if that's what you really want Mavis, I don't mind joining you again." I felt a joy in my heart as I stood up and walked over to the both of them. "There's only one way you can stop that monster. All you have to do is fuse my heart with it and it will self destruct into dust."
Jellal's POV
My eyes widened as I spoke back, "I won't do it not that you two were given a second chance of living."
"You have too Jellal its the only way." said Mavis. I shook my head, "There has to be another way. Just like Levy said its weak spot."
"There's no weak spot no matter how hard you try Jellal." said Zeref as I looked at him. He smiled as he walked past me. "The only way to destroy it is what Mavis said. Fairy Heart."
I gritted my teeth as I hit the ground several times feeling frustrated. There has to be another way I just know it. If only I could have a little chat with myself. The other part of me.
"You wanted to see me?" said my other self as I realized that I was in another world. "I need your help, is there any other way to stop that monster?" He looked and sighed as he jumped off from his seat. "There is but...you still need Fairy Heart to destroy it plus with yours too."
I felt blown as he gripped both my shoulders and looked straight at me, "Combining your magic and hers would take an effect on account. I can't guarantee the side effects later to you once you accomplish that." I chuckled, "I'm already on the brink of fading away, so it doesn't matter that I managed to save the world."
"You are right about that...but what about Erza, would you leave her just like that?" he asked as I felt my heart cringed deep inside. "I know...it's not easy for me too to leave her like this, but, I'll do it to save the world."
He nodded and smiled softly, "Then you should hurry...you have little time left before it ends. I wish you luck."
"I will..."
I snapped back into reality as I realized what I have to do. "If you may I have a proposal to this." I said as they both looked at me confused.
