A New Presence Awaits

Erza's POV

"So you don't remember anything?" I asked as he shook his head, "No I don't, sorry." I was about to explain things to him till I heard a knock over the door. Natsu and the others came barging in as they surrounded Jellal. "Jellal you're awake!" said Natsu as everyone smiled. Jellal was confused at first seeing them till he gave a soft smile few seconds later. "Sorry who are your again?"

Everyone gasped as I quickly introduced them one by one. Porlyusica entered the room as she called everyone out leaving Jellal alone in the room to rest.
"Why didn't you tell us that he lost his memory?" asked Lucy as she sighed and answered all our questions. "I didn't really want to make you all worry. Besides I'm suspecting that the pressure on him had caused him like that. Right now all we can do is to try helping him regain his memories. Don't push him too hard, he's still recovering." said :Porlyusica.

All of us stared the floor till she spoke up again looking at me. "Erza, maybe you could help him regain his memory." I gasped, "Me?" Everyone gleamed as Lucy and Levy came over, "Yes! Maybe by doing the things that you both loved in the past could trigger his memory. He might remember something."

I thought to myself, trying to recall everything that me and Jellal did together. "You might be right. I should go out on a date with him, maybe he might remember something." Lucy and Levy high fived each other, "Great! You'll tell Jellal that you'll meet him tomorrow at the front gates, we'll called Mira to arrange things for you."

"Hey don't count us out just yet, we'll try to help whatever we can." said Gray as he and Natsu agreed on helping the plan out. I turned to Porlyusica, "Porlyusica, would you mind if I take Jellal out on a date tomorrow?" She thought first before agreeing to my request. "Yes you may since he can be discharged tomorrow. Oh you might need to explain to Wendy once you bring him back home."

Oh yeah I almost forget, poor Wendy...what would she react if I tell her that Jellal lost his memories. I waved Lucy and others goodbye as I went back in the room sitting next to Jellal who was sleeping soundly. I adjusted his blanket making sure he doesn't catch a cold. His breathing was normal and I could see the cold mist that escapes from his lips. I ran through gently on his face feeling the soft touch of his skin. I pushed slightly his bangs admiring the handsome look on his face. He looks like a child when he sleeps. I came closer leaving a kiss on his cheek and placed my head on my arms drifting off to sleep. Please get better Jellal...

TIMESKIP

Zeref's POV

"What should we do now, since we lost the battle to humans. That so called experiment of yours have been finally defeated." said Dimaria as everyone in the courtroom glared at her to keep her mouth shut. I shook my head, "No it was my decision and I'll be the one that will atone for my sins. You are all not to be punished."

"But sire, it wasn't your fault either. You did it for the sake of your parents, nothing else." said August as I smiled back, "It's alright August, I already have a new reason of living. You are all free to go wherever you like. I'll be spending the rest of my life with my lover."

They all kept quiet as one of them spoke up. "Then what about the throne, are you stepping down as king of the vampire world. You do know other pure bloods are about to fight for power." said Brandish. I sighed, "Yes, I'm not fit to be in that position. Of course I'm aware of that too. The only way is to defend the palace for now at least till the rightful heir can take the throne."

"You mean Jellal Fernandes isn't it my lord..." said Eileen as everyone turned towards her. "Yes that could be the right choice, however, he is still recovering and hasn't woken up yet."

Then the doors opened halfway as someone familiar came in. "Sorry to interrupt but I have brought news from Makarov." I looked up seeing Mest one of Fernandes' best general of the knights. "Glad to see you Mest."

He nodded, "If you may I would like to have a word with you, Zeref."

"What?" I gasped after hearing everything from Mest. "Jellal has awoken but he lost his memories. Makarov mentioned that he'll try whatever he can to help him recover. For the time being, I'll help you secure the palace. There are some intruders planning to attack tonight."

"I'll inform the others." I said. "I never thought we would be friends Zeref. At first I didn't believe when Mavis explained that you were someone special to her. I doubt for a while till I realize something that you were just the same as all of us. Revenging for someone whom you loved. All of it makes it clear that we would do anything to accomplish that. That's why in return I decided to help you guard the palace tonight. I'll send my men soon." he said before leaving the palace. I gasped as I yelled back, "I'm grateful Mest!" He snickered and waved back.

"Its not over yet, Zeref..." I heard a voice echoed in the air as I looked around. "Who goes there speak!" I yelled as the voice laughed and a dark shadowy figure appeared right in front of me. My eyes widened seeing who that was. I stammered feeling too shock seeing him again after all these years. "What are you doing here...Acnologia?" He snickered as he slowly walked closer to me. "Well, you do know why am I here." he said as I knew what he wanted as he continued talking. "I heard there's a powerful pureblood living in the world. I wanted to see him for myself how strong he is."

"I don't know what you are talking about." I said as he started laughing, "Don't try to fool me Zeref. I'll find him and challenge him myself. After all, he does possess a powerful and rare magic in the universe. I want to see that till the end."

I snickered, "Try leaving this place." I said chanting a spell that locked up Acnologia in a magic dimension. He glared at me as I turned away leaving the place back to the courtroom. "I want to see how long will you manage to break my spell. You're not the only one who is powerful enough to do so." I said as he stood there, trapped in the spell I used with his face darken. I'll have to warn Makarov and the others about this before he breaks free. "Zeref, where were you?" said Invel as I quickly entered the courtroom going back to my seat. "Sorry was having a word with Mest and we do have a guest here this evening. Right now he's being locked up under my spell but we need to keep our guard on since it won't last much longer." I said as they all stared at me, confused. "Who is this guest you are talking about?" asked August as I looked at them seriously, "Acnologia."

They all gasped as August stood up, "We need to evacuate everyone from the palace at once!"

"No, we'll be here to defend because later during midnight there'll be other purebloods coming for the throne as we speak. Mest will be helping on defending us. We'll be here to prevent Acnologia from leaving the palace." I said as Eileen smirked, "For some reason I do have a feeling that the battle is not over yet. We may be defeated by the humans, but still given that now he's here I guess things have gotten way interesting."

"So what do you want to say Eileen?" I asked as she chuckled, "My lord, if I may suggest that half of the Spriggan 12 would aid defending the palace while the other half will remained here in keeping watch of Acnologia." I thought for a moment till I came to an agree with Eileen's suggestion. "Alright then, August you'll be in charge of leading the team against Acnologia. Invel you'll be leading the rest to defend the palace. There's isn't much time left till midnight, round-up all the guards and prepare for the battle. I'll see to informing Makarov about Acnologia. He'll be sure to let them know as soon as possible." I said leaving the room as they all bowed after. "Yes your highness."

I walked through the hallway and entered my study room. I quickly wrote the letter and send it to one of the servants to pass it to Makarov. "Make sure you mentioned to him its urgent. He'll understand." I said as the servant nodded and went straight off with the letter. I'll have to protect this palace until the rightful heir is returned to the throne.
