Chapter 20;

"Layne, he's here," Labiba said calmly, quietly. She was looking out the window, peeking through the curtain.

She glanced towards Layne, and smirked. She ran her hair through her perfectly wavy, black hair and flipped it behind her shoulder.

"I understand," Layne hissed, and reached for my hand. He laced his hand with mine and kissed each of my knuckles. I smiled.

"So what's the plan, smart one?" Labiba asked.

"I'm trying to think of one... I didn't think Austin would stick around a vampires house... It's so... Unusual,"

"You better think of something fast, because they aren't leaving until they get what they came for," she looked at me, and licked her lips.

Adrian and Juliet soon came out of the kitchen, and sat down next to me. Juliet directed her gaze towards me, smiling.

"You'll be okay," Juliet smiled, placing her hand on my knee. It was cold. "I promise,"

"Don't promise anything you can't keep," Layne mumbled under his breath so I couldn't hear. Juliet glared at him, losing her smile.

She faced Adrian now and made small talk with him. He kept shaking his head, and saying no to her... But I couldn't quite make out what they were saying. When they were done, Juliet had that sad smile plastered on her face.

"Adrian and I are gonna talk to the demons and see if we can work out a compromise!" She exclaimed.

"No. You're not going to put your lives in jeopardy," Layne scowled.

Juliet shook her head. "Ghost, remember?" She smiled again, taking Adrian's hand. "I can't die," she made her way to the door, and soon vanished with Adrian along her side.

Layne was looking after the door, hoping that maybe they would come back. They never did. He looked at me again, with an emotionless face. I could tell he was worried and scared, but he wasn't going to show it. He never does. Labiba sighed loudly, and started walking to the back door.

"Where do you think you're going?" Layne asked harshly.

"I don't have to justify myself to you. I can take care of myself," She started turning the door.

"Have you gone mad? There are demons just waiting for us to go out there... To eat our souls, and you want to leave?!"

Labiba brushed him off. "I'm hungry and I'm sure you don't want me eating your girlfriend," with that, she was gone.

Layne looked at me with sad eyes, and he kissed my forehead. I nuzzled my face in his neck, inhaling his sweet scent. He didn't smell like he was dead, or anything like that. He smelled like Layne. I couldn't quite make out the smell though.

I kissed his neck, and he chuckled. He looked down at me, and kissed my nose. "You truly are weird sometimes," he chuckled. I looked up at him, pouting my lips.

"Am not..."

He rolled us over, so that he was pinning me on the couch. "Are too," he leaned down to kiss my lips, ever so gently. His damp lips brushed against mine, and I could literally taste his sweet breath. His nose and hair brushed against my face, and his hair tickled. He kissed my face all over before finally reaching my lips once more.

Instead of it being a sweet kiss like before, it was a hot, needy type of kiss. It was like we haven't seen each other in years. Like we have been separated for such a long time. He yearned for me and I yearned for him just as much. His tongue fought vigorously with mine, our mouths and body molding together like two puzzle pieces. His hands were feeling my body inch by inch, and his touch was just perfect.

His hand slipped under my shirt, tickling me as his hand slid up. He reached my bra clasp, and unhooked it in one swift movement. I stopped kissing him, trying to catch up on what was going on. He looked at me with anger in his eyes.

"Did I do something wrong...?" he asked.

"No... Just everything is catching up to me right now..."

He looked down at my braless chest that was only covered by my shirt, and laughed lightly. "Well you look hot,"

I playfully pushed him, and he smiled. He sat up, brushing his hand through his hair. "You're such a pervert," I commented playfully.

He grinned. "You're also very beautiful,"

I kissed him sweetly, leaving him wanting more. I looked all around me, and then finally glanced at the window and saw that demons face again. It was creepier than before. The eyes this time were bright yellow, like a cats. I screamed, and the demon ran. Why the hell would he be staring at us? We can't have any privacy....

Layne jumped to his feet, and ran to the front door. I went after him, grabbing his arm before he turned the knob.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?!" I asked.

"I am gonna go after it..."

"Why?!"

Layne didn't say anything.
