Chapter 36;

*Laynes POV*

I was shaking with rage. I couldn't get it under control. All off the built up anger I had over the years are finally being let out. Today is the day.

Today is the day that I kill Austin.

-

I was walking to the park, with Clark and Labiba by my side. They insisted on coming and I didn't want a hassle. I wanted to go to the park because I knew that's where all the demons would be. It is demon hour, and all of the demons, including Austin, were out to play. I could smell them as I reached the gate to the park. It was sickening.

I saw several demons raise their eyes to me and lick their lips as I walked past them. I didn't even look at them. I came here on a mission.

I saw Austin with his back towards me, but he was in a different human form. An uglier human form than what he was before. He was talking to someone. Someone who I couldn't very well see but all I could see was slicked back black hair...

Austin heard my footsteps and turned to face me with a sickening grin. He opened his arms up and glanced back at the man he was talking to, and chuckled.

"You came!" Exclaimed Austin, laughing. "I knew you would. I have someone for you,"

I raised my eyebrow. The man stepped out from behind him, giving me a hard smile.

"Layne," he breathed, taking off his gloves with his teeth. "Good to see you again,"

"Caine," I grunted, I looked at the ground.

"What brought you here, my boy?"

"You already know why I'm here so don't play stupid. My question is, why are you teaming up with these pathetic creatures?!"

I heard the demons around me hiss, and growl. One of them tried to claw at me.

"Layne, you know I would never do that. But when it comes to see you in misery..." His eyes turned to slits. "You know I wouldn't miss it for the world," he chuckled. He pushed his hair back, and fixed his uniform.

I huffed. "But why?! You could kill Austin for me right n-"

He interrupted me. "Wait a minute. Why would I kill Austin when I want to see you in pain?"

I looked up at him. He was grinning at me and it looked like he was getting a lot closer to me.

"-but... I could make an exchange," he quickly grabbed Austin in a chokehold and Austin didn't see that coming. His face was frightened and confused. "In exchange for the death of Austin... I want Cadence,"

My eyes widened. "Fuck off. You're not getting Cadence,"

"Think about it. All of your problems would be over," his grip on Austin got stronger and Austin was choking. "If you just gave me the girl,"

"Why do you want her so bad?!"

He raised an eyebrow and chuckled. "The question is... Why do you want her so bad? She's just a measly, pathetic, narrow minded human,"

"You shut the fuck up. You don't know anything," my anger was about to boil over.

"Come on Layne. I will even kill all the demons here,"

The demons eyed Caine and they started to hiss. I waved him off.

"Forget it. I will kill him myself, and then you,"

He chuckled and let go of Austin. "As you wish..... Master," he busted out laughing and was gone in seconds. I was left to face the demons with Clark and Labiba. I looked at each of them and nodded. They stepped back, and left me alone with Austin.

He was shocked and still passed that Caine would betray him like that.

"Today.. It ends!" He scoffed.

He came running towards me, transforming into his demon form. He was uglier than before and his claws came towards my face. I couldn't let him get his venom in me, or else I would die.

His claws were 2 inches from my face before I grabbed the side of his head and threw him into the ground. He got back up instantly, snarling at me. I smirked, and went to kick at his chest. He flew backwards and he hit a nearby tree.

Something was off about him.

He slowly got back up, sarcastically shaking off the dirt that was on him. He shook his head and chuckled.

"What's wrong, Austin? You're not as fun as you used to be,"

He eyed me. "You will get what's coming for you... Demons! Attack!"

Swarms of demons came running towards me and jumping on me. I almost started to panic because there was too many of them. I gave it all I got. I could hear Austin laughing manically as he saw the demons topple over me. Some of them started to bite at me and claw at every piece of skin they could find. I kicked and fought as hard as I could. I was losing this battle.

"Have you had enough?! Are you willing to give up Cadence?"

"Fuck off," I threw the last demon off of me, and as I looked around, most of them were dead.. But how? I looked at Labiba and Clark as they smiled evilly at me. I smirked and started running towards Austin.

He came at me with such force and momentum, that our bodies collided and we both fell backwards. I got back up, and Austin wasn't anywhere I could see. I turned around, and he slashed my chest, and reopened the wound that the previously there. I gripped at my chest, and gasped.

He licked his fingers, tasting the blood that was on them and his looked down at me. He bent down, and leaned in towards my ear, whispering, "I win,"

Just then, I heard a crunching and cracking sound from above me and it was Austin, being broken in half by Clark and Labiba tore off his head. They threw Austin's body in the pile of other dead demons as they smiled at each other.

I felt weaker than the first time this had happened. This time, I knew I was going to die. My knees gave out, as I fell to the ground. Labiba picked me up, and threw me over her shoulder.

"Don't worry. We will get you help," she murmured, as we all ran to my house.

Authors Note: sorry that I haven't updated in forever. I was going through some troubles and as for the boy issue, he ended up cheating on me so that's cool. I'm okay tho. I found someone new and they treat me so much better. Thank you all for your concern.
