Chapter 33;

*Laynes POV*

I heard terrible ringing in my ears... I didn't know where I was or what was going on or what was happening anymore. Everything in my head was spiraling out of control and this migraine wasn't helping it. I didn't think vampires could get headaches...

I felt an awful stinging on cheek and I felt something hot leak from my skull and down my cheek. I heard a faint voice as I was coming to. The voice sounded rough, and husky.

"Wake up, you stupid idiot!"

I felt another stinging on my other cheek. This time it felt even worse. I slowly opened my eyes, and as I came to, I could hardly see anything around me except for the faint moon lighting from the nearby window.

"It's about time,"

I looked up and examined the figure in front of me. The figure had on a long over coat from what I could see, and long black boots. That's all I could see. I couldn't see his face but I don't think it's Caine.

"Whe-where am I?" I asked gently, trying to stand up.

I couldn't move. My arms were stiff and in one position; tied around the arms of the chair and my legs were bound together. I felt weak and empty...

"You really are stupid, aren't you?" the voice cackled.

I tried to struggle out of the chair, but it was too tight. "Where the fuck am I?! Who are you?" I asked angrily.

The voice chuckled and leaned in close to my face. His eyes were like an electric ice blue and you could see them from miles. They were really creepy because that's all I could see. The figure smiled a toothy grin.

"I'm your worst nightmare, your greatest dream, your foulest enemy, your hearts desire..."

"I'm not playing these damn games with you,"

He blinked. "Neither am I," he breathed on me and his breath smelt awful. He leaned away from me and those creepy blue eyes were staring at me, but then they were gone.

I searched around for the man, and I started chewing at my ties. I felt someone yanked at my hair and pull my throat back. I felt the little blade of a knife at my throat, and I gulped.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you," he whispered in my ear, pressing the knife with a little more pressure against my throat.

"I'll do whatever the fuck I want!"

"Go ahead. I'll kill you,"

"That's what I want. Fucking kill me. I have nothing to live for,"

He let me go but then he slapped me so hard against the back of my head that the chair rocked. He was in my face once more, those blue eyes staring into me.

"What about that little girlfriend of yours? Cadence, was it?"

I gasped. "What did you do to her?"

"Me?" he chuckled. "I didn't touch her,"

"I swear to god, if anybody laid a hand on her-"

"She's dead, Lucifer,"

I stopped breathing. "No she's not. Don't fucking say that,"

"Why would I lie?"

"Who the fuck are you?!"

"Like I said before. I can be your hearts desire or your foulest enemy. You pick,"

Then he was gone.

I felt myself wanting to sob again.

What have I done?

What have I done....

-

"Get up!"

I heard a rough voice yell in my ear. I felt myself get untied and get pulled up but I was too into my self sorrow to do anything about it. I just wanted to die. To be left alone. To be forgotten about.

"Caine wants to see you," the voice said, as he threw me into another dark room. I felt no point in trying to escape anymore. I've given up hope.

I don't know why I'm acting like this. This wasn't the Lucifer that everyone was scared of. This wasn't the Lucifer that didn't care about anything. I was... Changed, I guess. I don't know anymore.

Cadence has completely changed me. She's changed my life for the better and all I know is that I'm truly in love with her. I didn't mean to be, but she was always there... And now she's gone.

My only happiness is gone.

"Ah... Lucifer... I'm happy to see you here,"

I didn't say anything.

He chuckled. "How are you enjoying your stay?"

I still didn't say anything.

"I'm sure Cadence loved it," he smiled evilly at me.

What more does he want from me?!

I didn't say anything.

"Fine. Don't talk. Just listen," he started. "I want you gone, Layne. You don't belong in this world anymore. You're a disgrace to vampires everywhere. To love a human? That's a horrible sin you have committed-"

"You don't know anything..." I spoke slowly and angrily.

"Oh but I do," he chuckled, circling around my chair, tracing the wood with his finger. I watched the floor intently, not wanting to meet his soul binding eyes. "Oh Layne,"

"Where is she?"

I felt his cold breath suddenly on my ear and then he busted out into a mad chuckle.
