She:

See I can't be THAT person who puts everything on hold for love

Let me tell you the story of

a girl who's always looking.

I look for myself everywhere

Under the cupboard

Inside the drawer

On my sleeve where I wear my heart for everyone to see

It was hard to find under all this

neglect and doubt stacked all around me

I fit all these dreams like dresses: all cute, but nothing fit

I thread each day with questions like:

where to, what now, what if?

He:

See I am THAT person who's been putting love on hold

Let me tell you the story of

a boy who's always running

Like time, I was persistent

always running, never letting up

One foot after another,

chasing a dream I couldn't give up.

My hands meet twice a day in prayer

in the morning to give praise

at night to quietly ask for days

that would be happier than the last

I was running, and boy was I running too fast.
