"Lord, help me please."

"Ano bang pinagdadasal mo?"

She didn't notice that she wasn't alone at the beach anymore. When she looked to her right, there was a guy wearing shades around two feet away from her looking at the sea.

Lord, is that you?

"Enlightenment?"

"About?"

"Everything."

The guy smiled and replied, "Well, you can't have everything."

Okay, never mind. Wow ha. Sino ba 'to?

"That's not what I meant."

"Yes, it was."

"Explain."

"You were saying that you want to be enlightened about everything right? What you're actually saying is gusto mong maayos lahat ng nangyayari sa buhay mo. Gusto mong makuha lahat ng gusto mo."

Ang yabang ha. Kung makasalita kala mo ang dami nang alam sa buhay. Mukha namang medyo ka-age ko lang.

"That is not what I meant."

"You explain then."

"I just want to know what I should be doing in this life. What's my purpose? Saan ba dapat ako? Ano ba dapat ginagawa ko? Bakit hindi ako masaya? Hindi ko ba deserve maging masaya?" She didn't know what made her suddenly rant but it's done.

"First, mahal ka ni Lord so yes, gusto niya maging masaya ka. Pero ano bang definition mo ng masaya?"

"Umm I don't know. I don't think I've ever been truly happy so I wouldn't know. Basta hindi ito 'yun."

"Well, can I share my own definition?"

"Umm okay."

"Happiness is contentment. Gratefulness. If you're grateful for everything that you have and you're not focusing on the things you don't have, then you'll be contented. Happy."

Gago pala 'to eh. So anong pinaparating mo?

"So are you trying to make me feel guilty? Because I already am," she said which made him chuckle.

"Hindi naman. I believe you when you say na hindi ka happy kasi nga wala ka pa sa kung saan ka man nararapat. And you shouldn't feel guilty for how you're feeling. You're allowed to feel that."

"Paano ko ba malalaman?"

"Ang alin?"

"Kung saan ba 'ko dapat? Mukhang ang dami mong alam eh," she said with a hint of sarcasm. But the guy didn't seem to notice.

"Well, would you tell a stranger your story?"

She suddenly realized that she was actually telling such personal thoughts to a stranger.

"...No, thanks na lang pala. Umm thank you ha. Sorry baka na-istorbo ko pa pagbabakasyon mo."

"No, okay lang talaga. I can listen. I have nothing better to do," he said with a grin.
