It's already four in the morning and Maine is just done with everything. It has been a tiring and trying three days. She gets up at three to get ready for JFA and then gets picked up by the service at four, arrives at the Baranggay in roughly 2-3 hours and gets prepped for the sugod bahay segment, does the sugod bahay segment under the blazing hot sun, gets prepped for kalyeserye, does kalyeserye, eats late lunch, gets jerked all over the metro for shoots and goes home with just enough time to bathe herself before she gets picked up by the service to do everything all over again. Most of the time she gets at least three hours of sleep before she need to get ready but this week was just hell. She's not complaining about the abundance of brands who wants her to represent them but she was just human, she gets tired and right now she could pass as a zombie.

"Monks, andiyan na sundo mo."

"Sundo ko?" she was confused, their driver was with her Tatay at a convention somewhere in Batangas and won't be home until tomorrow. "Akala ko, hatid mo ko?"

Direk Pat rolled her eyes and grabbed Maine's bag. "Nakapack na 'to di ba?" Maine nodded. "May dumating kasi. Sabi siya na daw bahala sa'yo."

"Hi." arms were wrapped around her shoulders and a chin was currently parked on her temples.

"Why are you here?" she blurted out, standing up and wrapping her arms around his waist. She may not admit it but after a long day, this was where she wanted to be, in his arms, listening to his heartbeat.

"Sinusundo ka po. Did you eat na? We could drive thru." He muttered agaist the side of her head as he swayed them from side to side. Sarap ng yakap. Worth it ang eight hour drive.

"How are you here? Zambales ka pa dapat ah, pabalik ka pa lang dapat."

"Because I want to pick you up and bring you home." That earned him a good pinch on the burger.

"Gags, what do you mean bring me home? Do you want Tatay to castrate you?" she said, pulling away for a bit to look at him.

"Alam mo ikaw, assuming." He said, pinching her nose. "Iuuwi kita sa condo mo po. Saan mo ba gusto umuwi, sa Nuvali?"

"Baliw."

"Na baliw sa'yo."

"Ewan sa'yo. Halika na, gutom na ko. Drive thru sa McDo please I'm starving."

"Opo, boss." He extracted her from him to get her things from Direk Pat. "Thank you ate Pat. Uwi ko na 'to."

"Sige ingat." She said with a pat on his shoulder.

He wobbled the both of them to his car, Maine was being a pain and kept on putting all her weight on his side and acting like a koala.

"Meng, ang lala mo talaga pag sleep deprived." He said, laughing as he opened the door and deposited his personal koala onto the passenger seat and chucking her backpack at the backseat.

"Malakas naman ako sa'yo. Wag ka na magreklamo." She rolled her eyes.

"McDo fries or Shakey's lasagna?" he asked as he put on his seatbelt and turned on the ignition.
