This is a topic that the media has addressed multiple times, yet one that people still don't quite comprehend. White Feminism is not a branch of feminism based on your race, but rather how intersectiononal your outlook on gender equality is.
The harsh truth is when some people think about feminism, they think about equality for their race only.

White feminists are an exclusive group of feminists in that they don't include women of colour, queer women, or any other minority group of women in their talks of gender equality. They are only concerned about equality for white heterosexual women, hence the name white feminism.

White feminists are women on the front lines of free the nipple campaign and sometimes force free the nipple and nakedness on women who simply don't want to get naked. Forcing Muslim women to get naked for "Freedom" and degrading their religion is not what feminism is about. Some women are empowered when naked and some are empowered when modest.

Remember, empowerment lies in the freedom to make a choice.

White feminists are silent when it comes to police brutality towards black people or the immense prejudice that homosexuals face in their everyday lives .😔

When confronted about how exclusive their notions about gender equality is to minority women and other white women, they respond with a " you shouldn't be pitting women against each other"👎👎

Feminism is a movement that should be based on empathy and not just personal experience.

" If it doesn't affect me, then why should I bother about it?" Is the most selfish mentality that anyone could ever have.

I can agree that they have initiated movements that made a relatively positive impact, but as a young Rwandan girl who experiences misogyny on a daily, the least of my concerns when it comes to my liberation is whether I'm wearing a bra or not.

It is disheartening to know that there are women in this world who are much more passionate about free bleeding and free the nipple campaign than the well- being of other women.
