I probably wrote this Chapter about 5 times. I honestly couldn't find the right words to thank you, my dear reader.
I wrote this book because I wanted to show people what feminism was truly about. I wanted people to be as passionate and obsessed as I am for change. I wanted to be part of a movement that was full of good and honest intentions.
But most of all, I wanted to help create a world where we would no longer have to call ourselves feminists. A world where everyone believed in gender equality and if you didn't, we would then label you as 'Sexist'. Because only bad things should have labels.
I wanted to show you that patriarchy doesn't win because it has better ideas.
It doesn't win because it's culturally moral and just.
It doesn't win because it is genetically correct.
It wins because we do not show up!We remain silent and let bad people get away things. We, as people, know better now. Therefore we, as people have to do better now.
I am no longer accepting the things I cannot change, I am changing the things I cannot accept.
As soon as a woman gets to an age where she has opinions and she's vital and she's strong, she's systematically shamed into hiding under a rock. I'm here to tell you to be brave and stand tall. Darling, just freaking own it!
To my fellow Feminists: when someone, be it male or female, attacks feminism, do not attack back with hate or anger. Show your strength by your knowledge and desire to change. Screaming matches don't solve anything. I hope this book equips you for these verbal wars.💪
