Because my father's roll as a family man is less valued in African society than my mother's despite the fact that as a young girl, he was the first man I would ever love.
Because my brother is not allowed to cry when he is hurt but I'm a girl and i'm super emotional so I cry all the time right?
Because if we change how society views masculinity:
-Men will not feel the need to be aggressive in order to be accepted and women won't feel compelled to be submissive.
- If men don't have to control, women won't have to be controlled.
Both of us should be free to be sensitive, both of us should feel free to be strong.
Because it's time for men to stand up for the rights of their mothers, daughters, sisters and wives. But not only that, it's time they stood up for their sons right to be vulnerable and sensitive.
Because men of quality don't fear equality.
So dear men, why don't you join us?

Unless you find it easier to explain to the women in your lives why you don't support their rights to equality....
