***8 Months Pregnant ***
I stood in front of my open closet, staring at my hospital bag. "Only one more month," I reminded myself. I was preparing for the arrival of our baby girl, and packing my hospital bag was a big part of that.
Caden, who was lying on the bed texting, looked up at me. "What else do you think you'll need?" he asked.
I thought for a moment. "I forgot to buy baby clothes! Come on, let's go!" I exclaimed, pulling Caden off the bed.
We rushed out to the car and drove to several stores, buying a total of 13 adorable outfits for our baby girl. We also picked up a few accessories.
Once we finished shopping, we headed back home and I continued packing my hospital bag. When I finished, I placed the bag under my bed and let out a sigh of relief.
Caden and I lay down on the bed together, talking about our upcoming arrival. "I'm so excited to meet our baby girl," I said, rubbing my stomach.
Caden smiled. "I'm excited too. And I'm also excited to finally learn her name."
I playfully slapped his shoulder. "You'll just have to wait and see."
We talked for a while longer, and then I brought up the topic of labor. "Are you prepared for when I go into labor?" I asked.
Caden thought for a moment. "I don't think anyone is ever fully prepared for that. But I'll do my best to support you."
I smiled, feeling grateful for his love and support.
Later that night, I received a call from Toby. We talked for a while, and he shared some exciting news with me - he had decided to pursue a career in singing.
I was thrilled for him, and we talked about his plans and aspirations. He also mentioned that he was thinking of dedicating his first song to our baby girl.
As we talked, I couldn't help but feel a pang of disappointment. Toby's manager had told him that if his first song became a hit, he would have the opportunity to be an opening act for a famous singer. However, this would mean that he would have to travel extensively, and might not be able to spend as much time with our baby girl as he had hoped.
I tried not to dwell on this thought, and instead focused on the positive aspects of Toby's news.
The next morning, I woke up early and decided to make breakfast. As I was cooking, Caden woke up and joined me in the kitchen.
We talked about our plans for the day, and I mentioned that I needed to go grocery shopping. Caden offered to clean up the kitchen while I was out, and also suggested that I pick up some paint and decorations for the baby's room.
I realized that we had forgotten to set up a room for our baby girl, and I felt a surge of panic.
Caden reassured me that he would take care of setting up the room while I was out shopping. I felt grateful for his support and help.
As I headed out to the grocery store, I couldn't help but feel excited for the arrival of our baby girl.
(A/N: I figured I'd continue this in the next chapter. Not the best cliffhanger, but whatever. It's a cliffhanger. This chapter was 1,364 words. Please don't forget to vote if you enjoyed! 💝 Thanks for reading!)
