"Jessi? Are you sure?" I asked.
"Yes, I'm beyond sure."
"Hmm..." I said as I recalled the last time I saw Jessi.
"Listen, I'd be there if-"
"Can we go now? I'm bored of this place, this is supposed to be a make up for our last date.."
"Who is that?" I asked as the female voice finished her sentence.
"Um, who?"
"That girl."
"What gir-"
"Babe seriously, let's go."
"That girl."
"Oh, um... That's just Marcy."
"Jessie? Who's Jessie?" The female voice spoke again.
"Are you cheating again?" I asked.
"What?! No!"
"If you aren't here in 10 minutes, I'll find you myself." I said before I hung up.
I sighed a deep sigh.
"He's cheating again, of course he's cheating again." I said to myself.
"Hey, are you ok?" I heard Caden ask.
"Yeah, I'm fine."
"What's wrong?" He asked as he bounced Jay a little.
"Jay doesn't need to hear this."
"I'll just sit her down with the other kids, she should be fine."
"Will you ask Lydia to watch her?"
"Yeah, I'll be right back."
I sighed. 'Jay can't grow up like this, I don't want this for her..' I thought.
Caden eventually returned.
"So, what's wrong?"
"It's Toby."
Caden's expression changed from worried to angry. "What did he do this time?"
"He's cheating again.."
"Didn't he cheat on Zoey too?"
"Yeah, they were only together for a few weeks."
Caden sighed. "He really needs to get his act together."
"I know. I don't want Jay growing up around him when he's like that."
Caden stayed silent as he listened to me.
"I'm not the only one who needs to be her role model, Toby does too. I just don't think that he understands that." I said.
"I'm sorry that he's like that."
"Me too. I'm just glad that she has you to look up to now."
Caden smiled.
"Let's go back in. I'm ready for our first dance." I giggled.
"Alright."
Caden and I stood in front of each other. Soon we started to slow dance. I rested my head on his shoulder. There was something about being in Caden's arms that made me feel safe and loved.
After the dance, I got a text from Toby telling me that's he was waiting on me in the parking lot.
"I'll be back soon. I love you both." I said as I kissed Jay's cheek and then kissing Caden's lips.
'Why did I have to wear stilettos?!' I thought as I walked closer and closer to the parking lot.
I eventually reached Toby's car. Toby was standing there, dressed in his suit.
"So..." He said as he looked down at the ground.
"Again? When are you going to learn, Toby?" I scolded.
He stayed silent.
"You have a daughter now, you can't just run off and cheat like this, it's not fair to her or your wife. Honestly, did you think any good would come from this?" I continued.
"I don't know what I was thinking, Elizabeth!!" Toby snapped.
"Toby, you have GOT to GROW UP!!! You are a father to Jay whether you like it or not and you are also a husband now!! She is supposed to be looking up to you! YOU are what she sees as an example for the type of man she should marry one day!" I snapped back.
"Well Elizabeth, you aren't exactly the best role model either! You had a baby when you weren't even married yet! You didn't even have a job!!"
I glared at him. "Don't you dare turn this back on me, Toby."
"Oh, so you can just insult me all you want, but I can't speak the truth?! Well that sounds perfectly fair!!" Toby said sarcastically.
"I loved you, Toby!! I freaking loved you! I was waiting until you wanted to get married! We might as well have been, we knew each other for more than 4 years!!!"
"I'm not ready to be a father!"
"And I'm not ready to be a mother! Do you think that makes this all disappear?!" I yelled back.
"I can't do this, Elizabeth!"
"No, you are not walking away from this! She is your daughter!"
"What do you want me to do?!"
"Just stop acting like a teenage boy with raging hormones! God, I'm not asking much! Just grow up!!"
He suddenly pulled me into a quick hug and kissed me. I immediately shoved him off.
"What do you think you're doing?!" I yelled as I wiped my lips.
He just stood there.
I continued to wipe my lips.
"I'm still in love with you, Elizabeth..."
"I don't love you, Toby."
"I think you should take Jay and let her stay with you during our honeymoon and when Jessi comes home tomorrow, you should talk to her about what you've been doing. I'll bring her out here to you." I said as I turned around and walked back to where I was earlier.
