I pushed my cart through the grocery store, methodically checking off each item on my list. After finishing my shopping, I headed to the nearest store to pick out some essentials for the baby's room.As I browsed the paint selection, a familiar voice caught my attention. "Miss, do you need any help?" I turned to see Blake, an old acquaintance, smiling at me.
"Blake! Hi!" I exclaimed, slightly surprised. "Just trying to find the perfect shade of purple for the baby's room."
He nodded enthusiastically. "I can show you some of my favorite options. Let's take a look!" Together, we browsed the various shades until I finally settled on a beautiful, rich purple.
When I arrived home, I was amazed by the progress Caden had made on the nursery. The crib was assembled, and the bookshelf was filled with adorable baby books.
The next morning, I woke up feeling refreshed after a good night's sleep. I took a shower, got dressed, and headed to the nursery to see the finished product.
Caden had added a beautiful rocking chair to the room, which I absolutely adored. "Thank you, Caden! You're the best!" I exclaimed, giving him a kiss.
Just then, my phone rang. It was Toby. I stepped outside to take the call, enjoying the warm sunshine on my face.
Toby shared the exciting news that his song was gaining popularity and would likely be a hit within the next few weeks. However, this also meant that he might miss the birth of our baby girl.
I couldn't help but feel a pang of disappointment. I had been looking forward to Toby being there for the birth.
After the call, Caden and I spent the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying each other's company. I experienced a few more Braxton Hicks contractions, but Caden was there to support me through them.
As the days passed, I found myself getting more and more anxious about the upcoming birth. At 37 weeks pregnant, I was officially considered full-term.
One day, Caden suggested we go for a walk. I agreed, and we strolled through the neighborhood, enjoying the fresh air and each other's company.
As we walked, I experienced a few more intense Braxton Hicks contractions. We had to stop a few times to let me catch my breath.
After our walk, we headed back home and spent the rest of the day relaxing. I called Rachel to catch up, and then Caden and I watched an episode of Supernatural.
Just as we were getting into the show, I felt a sudden gush of water. My heart skipped a beat as I realized my water had broken.
"Caden!" I exclaimed, shaking his shoulder. "My water just broke!"
