"She's beautiful. Can I hold her?" Toby asked.
"Of course you can. You can sit in the rocking chair and rock her if you want. I'll go make her a bottle. I'll be back." I said as I passed Jay over to Toby.
He smiled and sat down in the rocking chair. I made Jay her bottle and I walked back into the room to see Jay and Toby. He was rocking her and talking to her.
"Whatcha doing?" I asked.
"Just telling her stories. I was just talking about when you and I met. I couldn't think of anything else to talk about." He said, making eye contact with me.
"That's definitely a memory I won't ever get rid of." I laughed.
"Oh, here's her bottle if you want to feed her." I said handing the bottle to Toby.
"Thanks." He said while taking the bottle from my hands.
"No problem. Just put her in her crib when you're finished. When you put her down just come on into my room and Caden's. I'll take care of cleaning everything up." I said.
"Will do." Toby said as he looked back down at Jay.
I walked out of the room and into my room to find a passed out Caden. I smiled and walked over to the bed and laid down next to him, I fell asleep.
I woke up and yawned. "Crap! I fell asleep." I raised up on the bed, alert. I walked down the hallway and into Jay's room.
"Toby?" I asked looking at him, he was asleep in the rocking chair and a sleeping Jay was in his hands. I smiled and walked over to him.
"Toby? Wake up." I said gently nudging his shoulder.
"What?" He asked, his eyes still closed.
"Can I have her? I'll put her in her crib and you can go home." I said.
He handed Jay over to me and I kissed her forehead and put her in her crib.
"I didn't mean to fall asleep. Sorry." He apologized.
"It's perfectly fine." I said in a low whisper.
"I have to go, I'm meeting with a friend today. I have to get ready." He said.
"Oh, okay. I'll call you later?" I said.
"Sure, I guess. Just let me know how she's doing." He said.
"Alright. Bye." I said. He waved and walked out of the house.
I sighed and began to clean up the room.
"How did he make that mess?" I asked myself as I swept.
I cleaned up the mess that Tony had somehow made. He always managed to make a mess out of nothing.
"What are you doing?" I heard Caden ask sternly.
I walked over to the door of Jay's room and listened.
"I came to see my niece, tough guy." I heard Paris reply.
"Did you call her?"
"No. I can't do that if I don't have her number, idiot."
"You're one more insult away from making me mad."
"Scary, I'm shaking in my boots." She said sarcastically.
I laughed. It didn't matter how much I didn't want it to be true, Paris and I were alike in a lot of ways. A flashback appeared in my mind.
"I reached over and took his phone out of his hands."Hey! What was that for?!"
"Answer my question and I might give it back."
"You look absolutely stunning."
"Hmm.. I'll think about giving it back."
"Give it."
"Scary, very intimidating, I'm shaking in my boots."
I laughed. I picked up Jay and walked to the front door. Paris peeked over Caden's shoulder. She then pushed him out of the way and walked over to me.
"Hey, Liz." She said.
"Hi, Paris." I said.
"Is this her?" She asked, looking at Jay.
"Yes, this is your niece Jay Lynn Jones." I said.
"Can I hold her?" She asked.
"Of course you can. Here." I said as I handed Jay over to Paris. Jay giggled and smiled a big smile.
"Hi there, Jay. I'm your Aunt Paris." She cooed.
Jay giggled and so did I.
"She has your eyes, Liz."
"Does she?"
"I bet she'll look just like you when she's older."
I smiled and looked at my daughter who made eye contact with me and smiled. She did have my bright blue eyes.
"Would you mind taking her, hottie?" Paris asked.
I giggled. Caden just rolled his eyes and took Jay.
"You know he has a name, right?" I asked Paris.
"I prefer hottie."
"I want to go and visit with you. We have so much to catch up on."
We walked in my bedroom and sat down on my bed.
"I have to ask, do you think Caden is thinking about proposing?" Paris asked.
"I haven't really thought about it, I've been focusing on Jay." I answered.
She sighed loudly and rolled her eyes.
"What?" I asked.
"Have you seen the way he looks at you?"
I stayed silent and thought.
"He loves you more than you could ever know, he loves Jay twice as much as he loves you. How have you not noticed?"
"I love him too and of course I love Jay more than I love him, it's just...I don't know..marriage? Isn't it a little too soon?"
"You didn't ask that when you were pregnant with Jay. If it's love, I doubt it's too soon." She said.
"That was different, Jay wasn't planned. I also knew Toby for 4 years."
"I have a feeling he's going to propose."
"I wouldn't say no, I'd say yes, but I still think it's a little rushed. I thought we'd wait until Jay was at least 1."
"You love him, Elizabeth. You love Jay too. You're both perfect for each other."
I stayed silent.
"I'll leave. I'm going to say goodbye to Jay. I love you, Liz." Paris said as she got up from the bed.
"I love you too." I said, still thinking about Caden.
'Marriage?! It hasn't even crossed my mind. Now that I think about it, I wouldn't mind marrying Caden. He's beyond perfect, he treats Jay like she's his own. We'd be extremely happy too. Marriage would be nice.' I sighed loudly and laid down on the bed, then a smile appeared on my face as I thought about Caden.
