We meet two fourteen year olds, demigods to be exact, in an unexpected showing of the future...
Annabeth

"Hey, Annabeth?" I looked up from polishing my dagger, and saw my best friend, Percy, standing in the doorway of my cabin.

"Yeah. What's up?" I asked.

"Chiron needs us," Percy responded. I nodded, put my things away and walked after him. Together we hurried to the Big House, and were greeted by Chiron standing with Mr. D.

"You said you needed us?" Percy questioned, looking slightly confused.

Chiron nodded, looking sideways at Mr. D. He cleared his throat then began, "Yes. The gods have decided to let you alone see a glimpse of your future."

My eyes widened. "Why?! How would that benefit anything?"

"We live?!" Percy said at the same time. I rolled my eyes.

"Yes you live. Now let's get on with this," Mr. D waves his hand and the world blanks out.

Annabeth opened her eyes and looked around. A little boy about five with messy black hair ran into the room, which was so greatly designed, and into a man's arms.

"Hi Daddy!" The boy said. Annabeth heard a gasp and looked to see Percy standing next to her.

"Oh my gods," he whispered, afraid someone would hear him.

"What?" Annabeth asked.

"That's me!" Percy pointed to the older man, holding the little boy. "And I'm hot!"

"Well, I can't help but admit that your kid is really cute," Annabeth blurted. Stupid ADHD, she thought.

"Thanks," Percy grinned.

"Dad, where's Mom?" Another child came in, this time a girl. She looked about twelve, with long blonde curly hair, and bright green eyes.

"Hey that-" Annabeth started but Percy clamped his hand over her mouth. Something about the girl...

Older Percy turned to look at the girl. "She should be home any moment," he said, looking worrisomely at the digital clock with read 5:40.

"She's on maternity leave, right? She should have been home-" the young girl began, but was cut off by the sound of keys sliding into the door knob. The door burst open, a tall blonde woman flowing in.

Annabeth and Percy's jaws dropped.

The tall-and quite beautiful, Percy thought- woman was Annabeth. Her curly blonde hair was tied up, and she was wearing a loose dress, her baby bump plenty evident to both demigods.

"Wait..." Annabeth trailed off, speechless for the first time in her life. She felt her cheeks heat up, and couldn't look at Percy.

"Well, you're kid is cute too," Percy mumbled, blushing crazily. Annabeth nodded slowly.

Older Percy jumped up and ran over to Annabeth. "Where were you?" He asked.

"At work," Older Annabeth explained to her husband. Their kids looked between them, waiting to see what would happen.

"Maternity leave. Ever heard of it?" Percy stated. Annabeth frowned, greeted her children lovingly and went to sit on the couch beside them.

"Yeah I have," she said after some time. "I just... Forgot."

"Cut the cra-" Percy started, but was cut off by Annabeth's glare. "You never forget anything," he said instead.

Annabeth smiled. "You know me too well."

Percy relaxed. "I was just worried."

"No kidding Dad," another two kids walked in the front door, one boy and one girl. Both looked about fifteen, with black messy hair and grey eyes.

Annabeth nearly passed out. Four kids?! And another coming along?!

On the other hand, she now knew that she ended up with her Seaweed Brained best friend. He was kind and sweet, handsome too. Having his kids should be that bad. But the sight still unnerved her.

Percy, though, was perfectly happy with his future. If it included his Wise Girl, it shouldn't be that bad. And he had four kids, with another on the way? He'd always wanted a big family. Now-well later, but you get what he means-he had that exactly.

Percy looked at Annabeth, and she looked scared out of her mind. Did the thought of being with him, scare her that much? Was he so disgusting that she never wanted this future to happen? More questions began to swirl in Percy mind, making him slightly angry and upset. If she didn't want this, then why did she let it happen?! If Annabeth wanted nothing to do with him in later life, why did she marry him, and have his kids?

"This doesn't have to happen," Percy found himself saying. "We can prevent it."

The way he said it triggered something in Annabeth. Was this freaking him out? Did he not like her like she did him? Was he doubting this future? A future that included her!?

Annabeth felt her heart sink, but she should have known this would happen. Percy was a wimp when it came to standing up for things. "You're right. This doesn't have to happen," she replied bitterly. Percy looked at her shocked by her tone of voice, but before he could say anything, the whole image of the future disappeared.

"Are you alright?" Chiron asked, standing above me. I nodded and pushed myself up.

"Just fine," I responded through clenched teeth. I felt like my heart has been ripped out and I just wanted to go. Percy stood next to me, staring at me concerned. Oh cut the crap Percy. I know you don't want that future.

"Well what did you see, child?" Chiron pondered, looked at us cautiously.

Before Percy could speak I answered Chiron. "Ask him. I gotta go."

I turned swiftly on my heel and headed out of the Big House. Stupid Percy. Stupid future!
