Annabeth

"No."

She watched him stiffen, like he was suddenly a mannequin. He was on the ground, on knee to the pavement, shaking from fear.

"Are you-"

"Being serious?" Annabeth asked. "Yes, I am. My answer is no."

His parents gasped and his little sister glared at the blonde. Annabeth could feel the stares of the rest of the mall and tried to forget them.

"Please get up. Don't make this any worse than it already is," she asked, slowly lifting him onto both feet.

"Annabeth, come on. Can't we talk about this?" He asked.

"Talk about what? You need to understand that we are too young to be married. We're in collage. And also you knew how I hate public displays of affection. I would never had wanted you to propose like this. Especially when the odds of rejection are so high," Annabeth said.

He frowned and closed the box. "So it's a no?"

"Yup. It's a no. I'll be leaving now." Annabeth turned around and ran out of the mall. Tears stung her eyes and she ran to her car unlocking it. Annabeth was right. They were too young to be married and she couldn't believe that Luke thought that it would be okay. She wouldn't have married him anyway. He never listened to her, he always told her she was wrong, he was sexist, and racist and was a horrible guy.

But that didn't mean that Annabeth didn't feel bad. She felt horrible but she knew that if she had said yes, Annabeth would be saying yes to hell for the rest of her life. And so she started her car and drove away.

She never spoke to Luke again.

"Oh it couldn't have been that bad."

"Percy, it was horrible. I felt like a bitch and then his whole family shunned me and gods it was bad."

"Well I'll do it better," Percy said and stopped in his tracks.

"What? Percy- oh my gods." Annabeth looked down and saw Percy down on one knee. He was holding a white box and he had tears in his eyes.

"Annabeth, I love you with all my heart. You make me a better person everyday and you are the light of my life. You make everyday worth living. I know it's been hard these past few months but we survive. You are my strength, you make me want to achieve in life. Will you make me the happiest man on earth, and marry me?" Percy finished.

Annabeth flashed back to her last proposal when she was 19. She remembered the pain and the hurt and the look on Luke's face. She remembered how it felt when she ran and how it felt when she said no. She was overwhelmed with all these memories and all the hurt.

But then she looked down at the beautiful guy before her. And she remembered the loving and the caring. She remember how much she loved him and how much he loved her. She remembers the love and the effort she put into their relationship. And this time she knew that this was the real deal. Her Seaweed Brain was it.

"Yes! A million times yes!" She screamed. He grinned and slipped the ring onto her slender finger and hugged her. They were crying happy tears and Annabeth was murmuring "I love yous" in his ear. He was kissing her forehead, holding her tightly like she would slip away.

He was her best friend. He was the love of her life. Percy Jackson was everything to her and marriage was the final step.

Annabeth felt her heart healing. She was engaged.

I know this wasn't very long, but I just need to write this. I was watching proposal fails and they were horrible but funny. So this is what came out.

I hope you liked my new shot and the next will be longer I promise!
