He Doesn't Know Me-Revised.
In this art, I felt so bad for Annabeth.
3rd POVPlease, tell her what she'd done wrong. What had Annabeth Chase done to let this happen?
Why must they take Percy away? Why did they steal his memories? Why did they make it, so Annabeth wanted to just die?
"Annabeth, I'm so sorry," Piper said, trying to consul her friend. Annabeth nodded, not looking at her. It was hard enough to see Reyna looking at Percy with love in her eyes. That just confirmed her fears.
Piper wasn't helping.
"It's fine. I'll be fine," Annabeth said, her voice raspy. She was choking on her own tears. It hurt so much.
"Annabeth, come one. You can't give up on him," Jason said, agreeing with Piper.
"Guys he obviously doesn't remember. Let's just finish the quest," the daughter of Athena whispered, wishing they'd leave it at that.
"But Annabeth! We just can't give up on him!" Piper pleaded, trying to make her friend see.
"Yeah, just try again-!" Jason began but was cut off by Annabeth.
"We don't have time! It's just gonna be a small price to pay! Each day the enemy gets stronger! We need to hurry up and finish this quest!" Annabeth shouted.
Piper frowned, knowing that Annabeth was going through heart break. "But...you love him..."
Annabeth eyes widened and she looked down at her shoes. "Um... I'm going to get some air." She turned, and fled the Argo ||, trying hard not to cry.
She stepped out and went down the ladder, and jumped once she was close to the ground. Annabeth walked, rubbing her shoulders, the wind beating against her like ice. The blonde walked towards Camp Jupiter and headed towards the River Tiber. She cursed herself when she saw who stood on the bank.
Percy.
She gasped, and he turned looking at her confused. Annabeth remembered a time when she would kiss him when Percy got that look on his handsome face. But now she's lost that option.
His green eyes examined her face, noticing the little things like how Annabeth had a tiny constellation of freckles that were barely visible on her nose. How her fierce grey eyes seemed to reflect a raging storm. How Annabeth's blonde hair, reminded him of a princess.
Percy just couldn't understand why she looked close to tears. Percy cleared his throat, "Hey, it's Annabeth right?"
She nodded absently, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to... Interrupt you. I'll go-"
"No," Percy said, dismissing her thought. For some odd reason, she sent some sort of calm feeling through Percy's body. Something he hadn't felt in a while. "It's fine. I don't mind."
Annabeth nodded, her blonde curls bouncing in the ponytail she wore. Percy felt the need to run his fingers through the locks, but restrained himself.
Annabeth brushed past him, trying to stop her loud beating heart, sure that Percy could hear it. She sat down on the bank of the river, and brought her knees to her chest, hugging them.
Percy sat down next to her, close enough that he could smell the lemon shampoo that graced her hair. It smelt like home. Percy shook the feeling off, he couldn't and shouldn't be acting like this.
The pair stated out into the water, thinking completely different things. Annabeth let the smell of water drift around her, feeling at peace for the moment. She knew it wouldn't be like this forever. Annabeth rubbed her arms again, the cold piercing her skin. Percy noticed, and took off his jacket handing it to her.
