Annabeth

"Mommy, who is that?" The little blonde pointed forward, showing her mother the person walking towards them.

"Who, Annabeth?" Her mother questioned seeing no one.

"That man! He's walking up to us, Mommy!"

Athena sighed, thinking Annabeth was making this up. "Annabeth, there is no man coming towards us. Let's go."

Athena pulled her daughter away. Annabeth's eyes furrowed and she gasped as they walked right through the man!

Maybe I can see ghosts! That's so cool!

"I'm Lillian, and you are?" The girl asked.

"I'm Annabeth. Lillian, where are you from?" Annabeth questioned, her blonde hair blowing in the wind.

"France, and you?"

"America. Lilliana where are your parents?" Annabeth looked around the library, but saw no other adult in sight.

"They died a long one ago," Lillian said, a small tear running down her pale cheek.

"I'm so sorry, Lillian!" Annbeth cried. Lillian shrugged.

"It's fine. I see them everyday," she answered.

Annabeth's eyes widened. "You can see ghosts too?!"

Lillian laughed. "Well of course I can. I am one."

"It's my what- twentieth date this past month?" Annabeth said. Piper nodded sadly.

"Well, at least the last guy didn't run away screaming," Piper said. Annabeth nodded, remembering that date.

"I hope this guy doesn't freak out when I tell him," Annabeth said, fixing her hair.

"Same here sister," Piper said. She always felt bad for Annbeth, because everyone always thought she was a freak when Annabeth confesses that she is a medium.

"Well he should be here an second now," Annabeth said, looking out the window. She looked down at her phone, right as a car honked outside.

Piper looked up excited. "Have fun!"

"I hope so," Annabeth muttered. She grabbed her coat and purse, and went outside. The guy was waiting there, holding a bouquet of roses.

"I hope you like roses," he grinned. She grabbed them from him.

"I do, thank you," Annabeth replied. He held open the door for her, and she climbed in. He soon followed her, and they drove off the the restaurant.

"Turn left here," Annabeth said. Percy nodded, veering to the left. They found a parking spot, and exited the vehicle.

The restaurant, names The Big House, was a cozy place Annabeth liked to eat at when she felt down. The owner, Chiron, was like a second father to her. He greeted them at the doors, a girl running over to get them a table.

"So, how are you Annabeth, dear?" Chiron asked. Annabeth smiled down at him, replying.

"It's going good so far. This is my twentieth date this past month, though," the blonde said. Chiron nodded sadly. He knew why she was so easily rejected. Chiron never judged her for being a medium, it wasn't her fault she could see ghosts.

Kelly, their waitress, came back with the menus. Chiron bid the young couple goodbye and left, Kelly pushing his wheelchair.

"So, what do you think I should have?" Percy asked. Annabeth shook her head.

"Everything here is gold, trust me. I've been coming for a couple years now," Annabeth replied. Percy nodded. When Kelly came back, she took their orders.

"I have a cheeseburger with a side of Fries and coke please," Percy said. Kelly nodded. "And, can you make the coke blue?"

Kelly gave him a confused glance, but said that she would.

"And you Annabeth?" Kelly asked.

"I'll have the Caesar salad, with ice tea please." Kelly nodded and left.

Percy and Annabeth made small talk, speaking of their jobs as of now, and what they really wanted to be. Annabeth didn't say one word of her ability, as she usually waited till after the food had been served.

Once Kelly came back with their plates, and Percy was halfway through his cheeseburger, Annabeth brought up the topics of talents that they had.

"Well I can balance on a work out ball for a few seconds. Longest was thirty," Percy said. "And I can solve a Rubik's cube in under ninety seconds."

"What about you?"

Annabeth laughed. "Don't be weirded out, okay?"

"I promise I won't be."

Annabeth nodded, and took a deep breath. "I'm a medium"

She expect silence. She expected laughter. She expected a cry of terror, and then him running away.

She did not expect this.

"And I'm a large?" Percy said, confusion embedded in his voice.

Annabeth actually laughed. "No Percy, I don't mean in clothing. I mean that I'm a medium."

Percy raised an eyebrow. "I'm still not getting this."

Annabeth rolled her eyes. "I can speak to ghosts. I can hear them and see them."

Now she expected the running and screaming.

"Okay," Percy said, continuing with his burger.

Annabeth's eyes widened. He wasn't scared? Freaked out at least?

"You mean," Annabeth said cautiously. "You mean you aren't at all... Repulsed? You aren't going to leave?"

Percy stopped eating. "Well no, not really."

"Why?" Annabeth asked, genuinely curious.

"Well it's not like you asked to be a medium. It's not my place to judge you. And you see like a really nice person. Talking to ghosts doesn't make you a weirdo," Percy replied. "And I've met weirdos."

Annabeth teared up a bit. "You sir, are the first person to not run away."

"What? Really?" Percy gaped. Annabeth nodded.

"Well, I don't get scared very easily. So don't expect me to run away," Percy bit into a French fry. "And I like you, so I don't want to run away."

Annabeth laughed, despite her blush. "I like you too, Percy."

He smiled. "Does this mean we're gonna have a second date?"

"I think it does," said Annabeth, smiling.
