Chapter 20: The Perfect Night

"The Perfect Night"

*Cassie's POV*

"I want you too." I whispered back to him. My walls that were built against him completely shattered in that moment. I knew that my heart was vulnerable, but I didn't care. I needed him in my life, and the way he looked back at me only finalized my decision to let go of the past... of all the hurt and pain that not only he had caused but that my family had caused. I needed to be happy, and I knew that Kellin could make me happy if I just let him.

"Really?" He asked, astonished. He was walking closer to me. 

This moment couldn't be any more beautiful. We were standing on a beach, with the sound of the waves crashing, and we were surrounded by the beauty of the fading sunset, and the arrival of the little specks of stars that were starting to appear. 

I couldn't speak. I just nodded and smiled. He let out a sigh of relief, and he reached out for me, and pulled me in a tight embrace. I just hugged him back, and forgot about everything. It was only me and him in this moment. I just wanted to kiss him.

I pulled back from the embrace, and put both my hands on each side of his cheek. I searched his eyes, and he searched mine. He was about to say something but I cut him off.

"I want to kiss you this time." I whispered, and leaned in. Our lips met, and started to move together. I felt his hands slip around my waist and I let my hands slide to the back of his head. My fingers began to tangle themselves within his hair, and he moaned. He lifted me up and I wrapped my legs around his waist. His arms only tightened around my waist, and I felt one slip under my shirt and I moaned as his hand glided on my bare back. 

Our kiss deepened, and I smiled within the kiss, which caused him to smile. 

"You make me so happy." I mumbled on his lips.

He pecked my lips and said, "And you make me complete." 

I smiled, and leaned in to kiss him once more when I heard Kellin's phone go off. Then, Kellin put me down.

"You might want to reply back to those messages from earlier today. I need to do the same, actually." He laughed.

"Sure." I said, and I grabbed a towel from my bag, and laid it out. I sat down on it and reached back in my bag for my phone. There were five new messages.

Mom: Call me when you get a chance, honey. I love and miss you.

Anna: What's going on with you and Kellin? TELL ME DETAILS!

Anna: EXCUSE ME? DID YOU DIE?

Anna: Seriously. Call me. I need to hear from you, missy. LIKE NOW WOULD BE NICE.

Kyle: You there?

Ugh, I wasn't going to reply back to Kyle. Maybe he'd get the hint then. But, I did respond back to Mom and Anna.

To Mom: Sorry, Mom. I've been busy all day. I miss you bunches. I'll call you soon. Love you!

To Anna: GIRL. I'm alive and well. Maybe we should do a double date to finish up our night? c;

"Someone's popular." I heard Kellin say from over my shoulder. 

"Oh shut it. Your phone has probably blown up by now." I poked my tongue out at him.

"Nah, it's not that bad. Just a few emails and texts." He rolled his eyes at me.

"Whatever, rock star." I rolled my eyes back.
